@Dark Overlord what was the original color? I like arctic white the most, but if you really wanted a dedicated passion project you could try replicating Rocky’s repaint.

Normally I’d vote for white, but then you’ll be marching on Sadie’s territory and we can’t have that, oh no. So I vote for blue, or you could Rockyfy your guitar, either faithfully or just loosely. I think an only-vaguely-Rocky-inspired paint job would be amazing.

I had a sort of funny BB moment just now. I was at the beach last weekend and about 20 or 30 of us were standing on a bluff watching the surfers. It was a super mellow day with bright blue skies and a warm breeze blowing daisy chains above our heads . There was a small reggae band playing, you know the kind that does a 20 minute bass intro to Stir-It-Up (little darling). So this being California the majority of the folks were smoking weed. It was nice that there wasn’t the current skunk smell but more of the earthy acidic aroma (think Panama Red or Acapulco Gold) from the 60s. Anyway I remembered @Zig spoke elegantly about how the pot smelled at the restaurant following Paul’s concert and I as thinking of copying him. I couldn’t remember exactly what he said so I started searching around. I believe I’m remembering incorrectly as this is all I could find: ” From the second we walked in, the aroma of the marinara made my mouth water”.

These last 2 days have sure been guitar filled. Anyways, yesterday I went into Savers and found a First Act discovery acoustic guitar for $8 and bought it and did these modifications:
Carved into nut for lefty use
Drilled holes for Strat pickup
Sanded down body from sunburst to bare wood just like John Lennon did to his guitar
Removed pickguard (originally intended to place it on in reverse but found out the hard way that goo gone removes the color from pickguards)
Moved top strap button
Removed dot stickers and replaced them by sanding down part of side of neck
Removed machine heads (the ones these came with had this stupid thing where it prevents easy access to the top of the strings and also they were extremely stiff, to the point where you need to use both hands to tune to E standard, I plan on replacing them soon)
Beat it up a bit
Also, I decided to repaint my Fender blue and put the top coat on the front of the body, it’s not that good of a paint job and I need to get more spray paint but for a first try it isn’t bad. By the way @sir walter raleigh the original finish was sunburst.

You won’t catch me redecorating Gerald anytime soon! He’s perfect ‘just the way you are he is’!
Anyways, I had a big disappointment this week. Not only was it the first week back to school, but it turns out we’re not doing Sgt Pepper this year in theory. We’re learning about Latin music instead, but…
COME ON! SERGEANT PEPPERS LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND! ONE OF THE GREATEST FECKING ALBUMS IN THE HISTORY OF EVERYTHING!!!
I have a feeling the year before us learnt about Sgt Pepper , but we were using the textbooks which had it in there while we were doing a different topic, so that is confusing…

That’s a bummer, @SgtPeppersBulldog. Hope you find something to like about Latin music.

Oh, what a pity @SgtPeppersBulldog! But maybe you can ask your teacher whether you can voluntarily give a presentation on Sgt Pepper ‘s, maybe at the last day before holidays when one doesn’t do anything sensible in school anyway. From my experience, I can say that teachers are always thankful if students show so much enthusiasm for their subject that they would even give presentations voluntarily. And you can say how important Sgt Pepper ‘s is and how it has its anniversary this year and all the usual stuff.
Well, I wish you good luck and hope that you somehow will have a chance to integrate the Beatles into your music class! *keeps fingers crossed*

I had some fun times actually socialising (which is not something I do often) today. Saw some friends i haven’t seen in a long time, and a lot of cool artworks. It was a reception for an art show at which one of my friends had a piece exhibited.

I had my last test for the term today (an English Media Analysis), only 1 and a bit weeks left than a 2 week break. I’m also going through a Ringo phase on the drums. Really enjoying playing through I Me Mine .

Wow! I’ve got 1 and a bit weeks left until a 2 week break too, and I’m also really trying to learn some Ringo fills on the drums! Though I’m not learning I Me Mine …

Are you also an Aussie? Ringo has some great drumming performances. Have you checked out Rain and Come Together ? There also my favourite songs to jam out to!

Yep, I’m an Aussie! I can just about play Come Together , but I’ve got no hope on Rain – after all, drums aren’t my main instrument, not even my second instrument.

To me, a great sauce is like comfort food – it always makes me feel good inside. One might call it medical marinara.

Our dog Lily had stiches and staples removed yesterday. Two weeks ago, we had a fatty lump (non cancerous) removed from her. Normally, you leave those things alone, but this one was starting to irritate her when she walked, given the location between the pit of her front leg and her chest. Anyway, for the past two weeks, we have had to severely limit her activities in order to prevent her from jumping or running – anything that would cause a pulling of the staples. This was no easy task as our little Terrier (Terror?) is a bundle of energy who loves to go for walks/runs/hikes. So, when we got home from the Vet’s office, I took her for a walk. It started out like this…
After that, it was all a blur. The Tasmanian Devil has nothing on our Lily.
