Google updates those street view shots every so often. Maybe your picture won’t be there too long, @Necko. You can see Joe through his living room in a Google street view picture. No, I am not going to give out his address.

@trcanberra, how is it looking for HKL to be able to stay in Australia?

It’s looking good thanks AG.

She now has a tax file number and a student identifier if she wants to work or study.

And so many new friends that they would picket the airport if they tried to kick her out 😉

We won’t know for sure for ages but are feeling completely relaxed about it all.

Drunk posts are common enough. No need to regret anything, especially if you’re lamenting problems in your life on the forum. It would take years for me to go back through and find all of mine. The challenge is telling the drunk posts and the non-drunk posts apart.

Never a fan of the “cheer up, others are too” advice when someone is down; at times life is s**t, admit, ride it and some day it will be a little better, even if only for a short while. I’ve got no idea how someone else feeling s**t is meant to be of comfort.

It’s why I adore

“I want you around, cheer down” is such a wonderful message. Yeah, life is s**t, you’re unhappy, be that way, I’m happy to put up with it all as it means you are here with me. So f**k being cheerful for the outward appearance.

heart

And the guitar work at the end is awesome.

And then you read

The title of the song is attributed to Harrison’s wife Olivia, who would tell her husband, “Okay, cheer down, big fellow” when he became too enthusiastic.

I truly love that interpretation of the song!a-hard-days-night-george-9

Sometimes, however, I think that ‘others feel that way too, cheer up’ is a really good thing. Because it sometimes happens that one obsesses about one’s own misery, at least I do that occasionally, and someone who gives one a reality check and shows one that everyone feels down from time to time can be a lifesaver then. I think that one doesn’t have to ride one’s problems out always, one can often effectively do something against them and other people can be a great help while doing that even if they only offer comforting words.

Not once does the diversity seem forced -- the genius of the record is how the vaudevillian "When I'm 64" seems like a logical extension of "Within You Without You" and how it provides a gateway to the chiming guitars of "Lovely Rita. - Stephen T. Erlewine on Sgt Pepper's

Home getting over a bad cold.

HKL is at a friend’s place for lunch representing the BB as I wasn’t well enough to go with her.

Hopefully I get a few leftovers for dinner!

I am remarkably comfortable on my sofa. Was planning to move four hours ago, happily failed and don’t see any chance of change for a while.

A co-worker waited too late (ie Thursday and Friday, and I was out of the library all day Friday for an out-of-town meeting) to purchase the textbooks we need to have ready when the semester starts TOMORROW. I will be going in to work today to get the most critical ones ready.

I start school tomorrow and have just applied to work at three different libraries nearby. I hope I get one of them in particular because it’s pretty much the same thing I have been doing at a different library for a couple years as volunteer work.

What does way mean when you use it like this? Are you using it as an interjection? I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before.

It’s used for happy, funny, or exciting events. You’ll hear it a lot at football matches AND if a waiter/waitress drops a glass and it smashes….wayyyy.

Just back from staying in Scotland with some friends, and now anxiously waiting for my GCSE results tomorrow.

I bet you enjoyed a good traditional Scotland summer where the temperature never fails to rise above 15° and the rain falls like it’s winter. And that’s a good year.

I’m going down to England for a break soon and if the heat isn’t near 30° every day I’m suing.

Summer this year has been utter crap and the crapness of 6 months of winter is beckoning.
