Wasn’t gonna post here about the move until something was official…. And it’s probably good ’cause I have bad news…We got approved for a nice little apartment!
You all knew it wasn’t bad news when you saw the spoiler tag!It’s probably the nicest apartment complex in the area, and it’s also cheap compared to the other ones, so I’m happy!
It’s right around the corner from the friends we’re staying with. Move in’s on the fifth!

Offline Congrats on the appartment @Mr. Kite ! Sounds lovely.
This week was supposed to be relaxing as my brother and sister would be gone mostly, but it really wasn’t. In the first year at my Uni you have 2 regular introduction days, and then these special introduction days which cost money and you can sleep at school and all. The intention is a lot of going out and being drunk all the time. Hell. they give you a goodiebag of which one of the goodies is a condom. That should tell you enough. Anyway, my sister wanted to go to these special days (my brother didn’t) but she has a bad reputation. A bit of a..ehm..well, she’s as slutty as they come, aspecially with alcohol in her system. But she had met this guy who she has only seen 2 times and she has lied about his age and all. She often lies and often ruins things by just running away or locking herself up in her room. She’s a handful. Anyway, my mom explained to her that it would be unwise to go, also considering her financial state (she hasn’t saved up money for books or collegemoney) and considering her reputation. And where would she be sleeping? Well, she was angry, but then she asked if she could go to the introduction days of her own study. Sure, that was alright, but she’d come home again right? My brother would go on an introduction camp, and all of a sudden she had that too but then at school, and she had to stay there. She didn’t have to stay her, I told my mom. She could go home. We did a bit of research and she was just trying to find a way to get to that guy. My mom made very clear that she wasn’t allowed to go.
Monday morning, 6.45. My sister left. She stayed at that guy’s place I think. She returned this afternoon. My parents didn’t know what to do, they tried to talk to her but she only screamed. They want her to leave, so do I. This is not the first time and the way she’s behaving is affecting us all. I think it’s better for all of us if she’ll leave.
Also, my grandma fell today, she hit her head. Hole in her head, it was bleeding like a..well you know. We rushed to her and took care of her and we were all worried. Luckily she’s alright now. She needed stitches and all but she was alright. She has been in pain and has been falling quite a lot lately. She’s 85, so it’s no wonder, but still.
So it’s been a stressful week. Luckily I’ve done fun things as well. Tuesday I went shopping, Wednesday I had a high tea with friends, and today I’m going shopping with friends. So that’s at least something.

Kinda surprising they give out condoms in the goodie bags. I guess they assume everyone’ll be doing it anyway, might as well make sure no one’s pregnant at school.

Please let me know if you like yoga, @She_is_leaving_home . My wife and I bought yoga mats because we want to try it. The very next day, she fell and broke her wrist. Now that her wrist has healed, she is building up strength. I can’t wait to start yoga with her. I also want to get into meditation.
@Linde – family can certainly be a challenge at times. It’s cool that you are still able to have fun regardless. The rest will sort itself out.

Offline Reading Lawrence Sutin’s biography of Philip K. Dick. Smoking many pipes and one or two cigars a day. Never cooking, always eating sandwiches and pizza and junk food. Slowly adding fruit to my diet. Cleaning up the house and having a room painted (I’ll have a guests’ room). Watching a lot of TV (only movies and mini-series). Thinking that I should start exercising again. Not writing or composing at the moment (no time). Had my first fight with my fiancée. Checking The Beatles Bible on a daily basis. End of report.

@Linde, if your parents kick your sister out, where will she go? Does your grandmother live alone? If so, would she consider moving into a care home? Out of curiosity, how long did high tea take? What all did they serve? I’ve been looking into having high tea at the Dorchester Hotel in London.
