Okay my phone was absolutely toast, so we took this opportunity to get the iPhone 7 for Mother Shears Campbell for her birthday (which was May 15th), so that I could use her old 4S. It’s a bit of a downgrade from my 5S, but ehh, what are you gonna do. Anyway I only need it for another month, then when I get back from Montana I’ll probably get whatever phone the kids are crazy about.

Then today I got to go to the temple and get my endowments! It was great, but half way into the 30 minute drive I realized I had forgotten my temple recommend(which you kinda need to get into the temple). I usually have my recommend in my wallet, but because this was my first non-limited use recommend, it had the endowment sheet attached to it, so I couldn’t put it in my wallet until they took the sheet. Anyway, I had to pull some mad shenanigans to get it all sorted out(big thanks to the kind people in my ward).

Tomorrow I’m off to visit family for about 5 days. I’m just hoping nothing else goes disastrously wrong like the things in the past week.

Anyone ever have those moments in life where you think “I’ve done what I had to do today, I’ve had my dinner, let’s just end the day now, go to bed and wake up in the morning”? I’m very much there and it’s little past 8:30pm. It’s not even that I’m tired, it just feels done.

Feeling guilty about how little self control I have with a bottle in my hands. Had another flashback to prom night this weekend in the mountains with my friends. All is forgiven now, but I know how much of a pain in the ass I was and can be when I go over the edge.

These nasty people up the street have several dogs. I have been going up there to make sure they have food and water. One of them is only 6 months old. She has been a lively, ravenous pup. But, about 4 days ago, she has turned lethargic and won’t eat. She has lost weight. She pukes right after she drinks water. I’m wondering if she has parvo. I actually brought her into my house last night. She is sleeping on a towel on my sofa. I know those people up the street haven’t been taking care of her as far as puppy shots and stuff. I wish I had rescued her sooner from that hell hole. I don’t have a lot of money to put out if the parvo treatment is expensive. If she does have it, I may just have the vet put her down so she won’t have a long, lingering, painful death.

Just be careful you don’t put yourself into a position for being charged with theft or dognapping, @Ahhh Girl. If they are neglecting the dogs might it not be better to contact the ASPCA?

The guy has been saying for 6 months “I know you will take her home with you one day.” He tried to get me to take her when she was a few weeks old. I wish I had, but it was right after Friendly died and we were not ready for dog then. Not sure we are now, but we will see.

Ohhh Boy and I talked to the guy. He said, “Take her.” I’m not sure we are ready for a dog, but ahhhhhhhhhhhh, what do you do? My head is spinning.

And, I got a letter from one of my doctors saying he is on extended medical leave. The clinic says they don’t have anyone to refer me to. Great. Not many doctors in this town specialize in the field. All of his patients are going to be flooding the few other doctors in town with that specialty. Guess I’ll be calling around tomorrow and keeping my fingers crossed I can get an appointment. I only have about 3 weeks of the medicine he prescribes me left.

About 10 minutes ago I found my freezer open and everything contained therein defrosted so currently cooking a load of sausages and some chicken thing whilst everything else has been binned.

Thankfully no bacon was harmed in the making of this balls-up and so life will go on with no inner soul searching or recriminations.

Here’s hoping all turns out well for you, @Ahhh Girlapple01heart

As for me….

Work Experience: Day 1

All in all, it wasn’t exciting as I thought it’d be, but pretty simple. We spent the first two hours placing tags on clothing, then got an hour long lunch break (strange, because it said half an hour on the paper.) The latter was the most exciting part of the day, mainly because I spent all of it flicking through records and CDs in three other charity shops. I didn’t bring my wallet, but saw two records in separate shops that I really wanted:

A Buddy Holly compilation

Mike Oldfield – Tubular Bells

Hopefully they will still be there tomorrow, because I will bring money then. I didn’t chance looking for anything in the charity shop I was doing my actual work experience in at first, because the people seemed a little strict. After the lunch break, we sorted out some other clothes and put them on and off hooks. We then had a free period, in which I did end up looking through the CDs. I actually found  Help ! (1987 release) on CD, but the cover was tattered and broken, and there were two cheap CDs with the album burned onto them for some reason instead of the one official disc. I quickly placed some other CDs on top of it, so no other Beatlemanics who may happen to walk into the shop have to witness it. paul-mccartney

Hopefully, something exciting will happen tomorrow.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you @SgtPeppersBulldog, that you’ll be able to pick up some cool LPs during your work experience! (…Oh yeah, and that you’ll gain some useful work experience too, of course!a-hard-days-night-george-10)

Tomorrow I’ll give Tanzanian exchange students at our school a guided tour of Hamburg and, to be honest, I’m a bit nervous because of all the events accompanying the G20 summit. Hopefully, everything will work as it was planned and not end in complete chaos.

Not once does the diversity seem forced -- the genius of the record is how the vaudevillian "When I'm 64" seems like a logical extension of "Within You Without You" and how it provides a gateway to the chiming guitars of "Lovely Rita. - Stephen T. Erlewine on Sgt Pepper's

Sorry for my absence earlier today, i had some obstacles to overcome and still do.

You see, at around 1 am i decided to shut down my computer but due to the 201 updates Windows wanted to install, i wasn’t able to sleep until 5 am. Then when i try to load up my computer, this happens.

1st time:

Goes to a black screen and lets me wiggle my mouse cursor but nothing else.

2nd time:

Due to my OCD, i decided to shut it off after it got to the Windows logo.

3rd time:

Finally starts up, but has to configure updates and if you pay close attention to Windows updates, they make you restart your computer after they get to 30%.

4th time:

Reboots after getting to 30% but it freezes on the Windows logo so i had to restart the Windows 7 computer.

5th time:

Gets to configuring the updates 99% but then goes into reverting changes mode, which takes forever so at this point i decided to instead just forget about Windows and install Ubuntu.

So i install Ubuntu 16.04 and there are a few obstacles:

1. The wifi card that i had didn’t work, so i had to move the modem and router on top of my computer so i could get Ethernet.

2. The built in browser is Firefox, which i dislike so i tried to install Chrome with no success, then Chromium with no success, so i eventually sided with Opera because i know a few users on this forum that prefer that browser, so i chose that one and fortunately, it worked.

3. This problem i have yet to solved. As you may or may not know, i always use my browsers in private browsing mode but i don’t know how to have it where it brings you to private browsing by default in Linux, so i have to right click open private tab every time i want to use Opera until i can find a way to fix that, hopefully someone on this forum knows how.

If you're reading this, you are looking for something to do.
