Thanks guys. This is what I love about the forum- we are people with no connection at all apart from a shared love for the Beatles.

That is one crazy story, @sir walter raleigh . Horror movie material!About my life, I’m not having a very good time at the moment. I’m quite an introverted and depressive individual and only trust a few people. And one of these people has stabbed me in the back without actually knowing. Needless to say im throwing myself into the forum to keep myself busy.
Am that and have been thru it. Hell and very difficult to make it thru.
If I can be of any help let me known.

Speaking of which… Finally home and reunited with my guitars! Just having a jam on my bass right now, playing Muse’s Hysteria and Violent Femmes’ Blister In The Sun.

Oh wow, @sir walter raleigh. I sure hope that gets sorted out.
Currently sat here doing nothing productive, as usual. I think I’ll do some writing later; I’ve got some new ideas for poems and things.

Boys and girls of forumpool, don’t try to change your rear struts. Let a mechanic handle the job. I didn’t give myself that advice before this day started. What a mentally and emotionally difficult process this is.

@Beatlebug Oh. I’m sorry, I’m gonna have to be honest and tell you I don’t really like Muse, even though I was playing hysteria. They sound far too industrial and edgy for my taste, especially Bellamy’s nasally vocals. I like the ideas behind the songs (I.e the lyrics, bass and guitar parts all tend to be good) I just don’t like the way they sound in real life.

Well, that’s another way to put it…
@QuarryMan I suppose you can be forgiven. It was too much to hope for that I might find a fellow Muse fan on this here Beatles forum…

I might not deserve the term ‘fan’ yet but the two albums I know from Muse (Black Holes and Revelations and The Resistance) are pretty good. Invincible, Knights Of Cydonia, and Undisclosed Desires are my favourites.

BeatlebugNot once does the diversity seem forced -- the genius of the record is how the vaudevillian "When I'm 64" seems like a logical extension of "Within You Without You" and how it provides a gateway to the chiming guitars of "Lovely Rita. - Stephen T. Erlewine on Sgt Pepper's

Good choices! ‘Knights Of Cydonia’ is probably my all-time favourite and the other two are in my top ten as well.

Learning guitar solos is such an uphill trek. I wish I could have the runs and licks downloaded into my brain, and all I’d have to do is practise the fingering. But, alas! you’ve got to pay your dues if you wanna play the blues, and you know It Don’t Come Easy…
(In case you’re wondering, my current uphill trek is the solo to ‘Thank You‘, which I’ve been improvising rather badly, and I finally decided it was time to sit down and learn it properly.)

Have fun there, @SgtPeppersBulldog!
I know what you mean about uphill struggles, @Beatlebug . My E and B string on my Les Paul copy are currently broken so I’m having to play solely on acoustic. Hopefully the lead work I’m doing on there will strengthen my bends.
