My choir is touring Paris and Normandy. We sing in Notre Dame, which is cool. I’ve been 4 or 5 times previously because I have family that lives in Paris.

Offline ^ Nice one I’m in the south (as always). Going back to Nice for the 2nd time as I went to a fab language school there 2 years ago and I might as well go back and do the Super-Intense course because they were giving me brilliant prices (I imagine that was down to the Bastille attacks but it’s a brilliant thing to bloody go and throw a middle finger to extremists by going to places that they want people to be afraid of!).

So on Wednesday Father Shears Campbell’s amplifier for the record player finally stopped working. It had been really touchy to the point where if you tilted one of the knobs even a millimeter, the sound would go all staticy. The button to switch the inputs was especially touchy. It would cause one(or sometimes both) of the speakers to go out, but it could easily be remedied by gently nudging the button. However, on Wednesday the the sound became eternally terrible and no combination of knob and button placements were fixing it. This whole time I figured the bad quality of the amplifier was due to it being very dusty inside, but I opened it up today and it was almost clean as a whistle. It is about 40ish years old(from the 70’s) so it might just have bitten the duct due to age. FSC is going to take a look at it tonight, but we may just have to get a new one…. Until then I can’t listen to any vinyls. Hopefully this will be remedied soon.
