And then there’s Vegas where it’s still winter, but last week I had to start turning on the air conditioner in the car. It’s like we had 3 weeks of “cold”, then we had a few weeks of warm weather that had wind so that it felt colder outside but then was super warm inside, and now it’s just plain warm outside.

Offline Some time back just before Chrimble I commented on my phone going kaput. I finally got around to buying a replacement last week, and I finally got around to taking it out the box about half-hour ago. Exactly the same model, and original idea was just to switch batteries. Same model, but they’ve changed the battery in the last year. So, fresh battery charging in new phone, then I have to set it up.

At the risk of being labelled sexist – @HongKongLady has had an ultrasound and has been diagnosed with some ‘female problems’. She may require an operation – one of us will update when we know more.

Offline My walk to work this morning consisted of listening to the birds singing as the rising sun followed me along the roads. A stunning experience and wonderful to be going into work as it’s getting light instead of it being dark.
Aside from that, I have to figure out whether or not I speak and risk losing everything or hold my peace and be guaranteed to gain nothing. It’s an incredibly simple dilemma that couldn’t be more complicated. The complications that arise in life.

Offline Wisdom teeth are painful. I suggest just getting someone you know and are happy to see jailed to smash your jaw into little pieces. Removes the wisdom teeth and gives you someone to blame, as you watch them dragged off to the nonce wing of prison to see them punished for being so vindictive. Not a good solution, but I have always found it useful to blame others ad have them locked up for flaws, snubs and suffering they have no idea they are responsible for because they’re not.
Always find some other bugger to blame… Least that’s my rule most of the time.

Getting a 3D X Ray to see the best way to remove my wisdom teeth.
I hope I don’t scare you with my story but…when my wisdom teeth came in – this was the dark ages, Reagan-era – they were impacted and so painful I couldn’t eat. I went to the dentist expecting to have them extracted but when he looked at the X-rays and realized just how impacted they were he said “no way, you need to be under full anesthesia, I’m going to have to saw these teeth in half to get them out.” I was in such agony I literally begged him to just do it with local anesthesia. He did it. I sat there awake as they cut those evil things out of my head and sewed me up.
Then I got home and I was spitting blood for hours. And hours. And hours. And then I was vomiting blood. I went back first thing in the morning and, lo and behold, they hadn’t stitched me up properly.
27 years later I’m still telling the story. Yours will be much better!
Anyone want to hear about the time I popped the stitches from my uvulopalatoplasty?

Offline Apparently my teeth are clear of any bones or nerves so it should be a basic operation. I have a vocal audtion in Seattle this weekend, so I’m mainly worried about the swelling interfering with my voice. On the bright side I get to miss the rest of the school week.

I’ll punch myself in the jaw after the operation. I’ll be loaded with pain killers and I can sue the doctor for a boatload of money. I do have rich friends, but they can’t punch very hard.

Offline I had all four of my wisdom teeth pulled at the same time. I was numbed well. Didn’t feel a thing. The dentist gave me some pain pills and told me to take one about 2 hours after I got home and then periodically until the pain went away. Fine. I took one as directed. I was sitting on the front porch watching my mom mow the lawn. Then, I felt very sleepy. I made it into the house somehow. Mom came in after mowing and found me sound asleep on the floor in the hallway. I don’t remember hitting the floor. I didn’t take any more of those pills. The pill was worse than the pulled teeth.
