Finally moved in to my new apartment! After a torturous day of cleaning and unpacking, my roommate and I said goodbye on the parents and went out for a walk in the big city of Skopje. Luckily we know all the big, famous places to visit, although not how to get to them, but that’s what google maps is for. On our first day here we went to see a few of these big, famous places and ended up listening to quite a few street musicians. One group of them even talked to us and asked us to join them to jam or just sit in the park, which is what we did. It was all pretty cool, and perfect for me, but it was not really my roommate’s scene. Hopefully me and her will become more independent of each other with time. It was a blast to be able to go wherever we feel like until whenever we feel like without having to tell or explain to anyone! Now I shall have my first breakfast in my first apartment!

Trying to cover Nineteen-Hundred-And-Eighty-Five, my left hand hurts from the damn Macca piano bassline! Back and forth on the octave!!

If I spoke prose you'd all find out, I don't know what I talk about.

@ScrambledEggs Sounds great! Don’t worry, eventually you’ll get to know the city and you’ll make new friends, and then you and your roommate can do whatever you want. As long as you get along it’s good. Do you get along with her?

Right now all is good, we get along just fine, I really hope it stays that way. It’s an almost perfect situation because we’re going to the exact same college, so studying together could be helpful.

I have the football on one laptop, the TV on, and stumbling around the net on another laptop in a house on my own. Its bliss.

Did a 20 minute workout, then had a healthy snack, did my nails and had a facial mask with coconut oil while listening to some good music and reading something. Great relaxation. Sometimes I really like being a girl.

The wife and two youngest kids are visiting her cousin… the two older kids are at work… I’ve got the house to myself.

I don’t miss a lot of things about being single, but this is one of them. This little slice of quiet will end in about 2 hours, so I’m enjoying it while it lasts.

Nice to hear – I have been looking at some pictures of Skopje and the old town area looks really interesting to explore.  I really hope everything goes well with the studies and the new apartment.

Good to hear your getting acclimatised to your surroundings and have someone to help as you do so @ScrambledEggs. Can be a bit overwhelming moving to new surroundings on your own without having someone to go around with as you bed in.

The very best with your studies throughout the year and enjoy your new found freedom.

Life as an Independent Woman hasn’t been much different just yet. My roommate’s parents are in and out the apartment every since we moved in, so I haven’t had much time to myself. Hopefully that will change soon and I will have more time to explore the city, meet new people and have fun. We aren’t throwing a party, which is a pity, because all our friends are back in Kicevo and wouldn’t be able to make it.

I’ve applied to study Electrical Engineering – Automatics and Robotics, to be more exact – and should be getting the results tomorrow! My apartment is quite ideal, because it’s a 5 minute walking away from my University, 15 minutes walk from the city center. So first thing tomorrow, after having checked the results online, I shall head to my University to get my books. Today I received an e-mail from the University with a list with all the students who have applied, and how many points they received, and by the looks of it now (although it’s unofficial until tomorrow), I am definitely accepted and into the best 10 students in the University!

I wont have a proper internet connection for another month :( So right now I’m making a hotspot from my cell phone to my lap top and it is a real pain.

Edit: On our first night here, my roommate and I went to the center of the city and found street musicians. Just as we sat down to listen to them, a random guy passing by yelled “Play something from the Beatles!” and I was like, “Yeah, man!!” And so they played “Come Together ” and oh boy, could the girl sing. After that, they invited us to hang out with them in a park, which was great, and we played a lot of Beatles songs there!!

@ScrambledEggs Maybe you should plan for a “We’ve been here a month!” party. By that time you’re sure to have made friends to invite.

What’s the apartment like?

When I was in college, I had the fun of a three-bedroom flat to myself. At 18, I was also a couple of years older than many of my fellow students – who were just out of school and mainly still living at home with their parents. Guess whose flat became the place to hang-out?

First striking out on your own is a fun and scary thing. You have things to think about that you’ve never had to think about before – however much you’ve done at home previously. You’re at the beginning of a great adventure, and I’m sure you will love most of it.

Just remember that when it’s not fun, you have a bunch of internet friends always happy to listen and offer unwanted advice!

Sounds like you’re studying something that will give you many opportunities in the future. Unfortunately, too many of our students over here go for things like Media Studies or Drama, as they dream of being stars. We lack students doing subjects like yours, which is why you’ll go far.

Do you know what your room-mate is studying yet? It would be good if it’s something similar.

Oh, that’s a great idea. And, in one month is when Uni begins, so all of our friends should be here by then!

The apartment is quite small. We have only one bedroom which I have taken for myself, and my roommate has taken the living room. Which is absolutely great. Your apartment sounds like a lot more fun, however. I truly hope that this will be a great adventure for me, just like you said.

And thank you so much for offering to listen and give me much wanted advice!

I chose to study this because I also believe that it’s something that has a future. It would be quite sad to study and work so hard as I do for something that would leave me jobless!

My roommate is studying the exact same thing, which should be very good.

I’m ill at ease.

I’m going to pre-trial tomorrow for a DUI.  I was not intoxicated.  I have medical records showing why I failed the field tests and witnesses to my sobriety for the 6 hours before I was stopped.  Hopefully I can get it dropped.

I find myself dwelling on the incredibly horrific events, images and statements…I just can’t comprehend it all.  Keeps the court appearance in perspective though (things could be much worse!).  Need some fun, peace & love music…any suggestions?  Don’t all yell at once!

On a brighter note, Britney Spears has been accused of lip-synching.  Wouldn’t surprise me, she’s too busy twerking the stage, dancers, anything within reach, to concentrate on singing.

I’ve made a resolution to remember to log out of here when I’m afk.  Contrary to popular belief, I’m not actually here 7×24…

Time to try to get some rest, 8:45 is less than 7 hours away.  Thanks for listening :)

Half of what I say is meaningless...

I feel good in a special way, I'm in love and it's a sunny day
