Juncos hopping about the drive outside the window. When I see them, I feel that it’s truly winter.

My favourite teacher from primary school came back to the school this year after 6 years of travelling and working around the world. An old friend from primary school and I went to visit her (we made her cry….with joy might I quickly add) and then we took it upon ourselves to tour the school. Anyways long story short we found a video of a Christmas concert we did back in 2006, when we were eight. So we watched the video when we went back to my house and my god I looked like a squirrel even more then than I do now, big puffy cheeks and everything but dare I say I was a cute kid. Anyways no footage exists of me as a kid apart from plays or musicals that I did (my parents never bothered to record Christmas videos or anything so I only have photos of them) so it’s nice to see a more chill ASJ from back in the day.

I plan on getting it converted to DVD, editing it a bit to make it more slick and putting up my class’ version of James Blunt’s ‘You’re Beautiful’ and tagging all of my old classmates in it to embarrass them 😛

Also the news are doing their annual happy turkey birds being marched into the van, d’awwww poor turkeys.

Be prepared you will have to listen to the awkward children’s singing that isn’t great but not truly awful either.

You must be in a different part of the country then. There are a lot of subspecies of juncos — my field guide to American birds gives ’em a whole page.

Hey everyone!john-lennon-salute_gif

First of all, I would like to thank those that wished me a happy birthday last week!  I really appreciate it and it definitely was a great birthday for me!

Anyway, I’ve just been really busy these past few weeks, and I’ve had a lot on my mind- finals, birthdays, holidays, etc.  Also, older brother just came to stay with us for a couple weeks. So that’s why you haven’t seen much of me around here.  But now that I have a lot more free time, I think I’ll be posting a lot more on here.  Cheers!ahdn_george_08

It’s becoming Christmastime(one word) very quickly in my house.  Mother Shears Campbell is baking cookies! Tomorrow it’s just going to be Mother SC, Father SC, Sister SC, as well as Father SC’s friend/our family’s friend.  Then on the big day, we are having a big family party.  In my church, services are only held on Christmas Day if it’s a Sunday(like this year), and if Christmas is on a Sunday, there’s only one hour of church as opposed to the normal 3.  That means we’ll leave for church at 11 and be home by 12:30ish.  Then we stick around here in Vegas for the first 2 days of Kwanzaa, then we’re off to visit some family folks in the colder regions of the earth(which honestly is most places on the earth).  Then we’ll head back on New Years Day.  Then it’s back to school, and exams and all that jazz.

I downloaded Xposed today, it’s really awesome. I didn’t want to download a whole new ROM because I don’t trust my skills at not bricking things, so Xposed (after you get modules) is really great for just customizing things.

Modules are super fun, I’ve already changed a bunch of stuff, (battery icon/colour/font, volume button uses, Getting rid of YouTube ads/recommended videos, etc…) and I haven’t even scratched the surface on all of their potential.

Please don’t laugh at me or anything like that, but I spent most of the day with my mother. You see, she came over for Christmas (without my father this time due to his deteriorating health) and the funniest thing happened. I went out to lunch with my mom and her friends and while they were having their lunch, they were talking about The Beatles. When I mentioned I liked The Beatles as well, they were at first surprised because they thought I was too young to be into The Beatles (I was born in 1967 while these people were born from est. 1944-1946 (my mother was born in 1945)) and then my mom talks about how I liked The Beatles when I was a baby and pops out a baby picture of me from 1968 and that temporarily shifted the conversation. Then we talked more about The Beatles, my mom said that she thought Paul was cute and they all talked about when they saw The Beatles live. I would’ve rather spent the day with people more closer to my age and males, but I still had fun and it’s interesting to hear about The Beatles from 70 something females.

Maybe you should try posting more.

I was awoken at 2:30am to taxi drunken people home- it’s really, really, really good fun (spoiler alert: it isn’t). Anyways after being dragged into a house and continuously being offered ham sandwiches and asked why I didn’t eat the sandwiches (meat m8, meat). I collapsed into bed at 4am. Merry Christmas to you ASJ!

In other happier news: It’s Christmas Eve yay!

Well we found out about an hour and a half ago(at 10:00 at night when we were about to go to bed) that our water heater broke. Water was leaking in the closet and a couple of other places, because the pipes had corroded(we assume). We had to drain the water heater, and we now have no hot water. We have to get it fixed, and we leave town on Wednesday. If this had only happened a couple of days ago, we wouldn’t be so stressed about it, but now it’s one day before we leave, and there are clothes we still haven’t washed, and we probably should take showers. Hopefully someone can come to install a new water heater tomorrow so that we can rest easy during the trip knowing our house isn’t gonna flood from leaks. Is it just me, or does it seem that things seem to break at the worst times?

Our pipes froze completely a few days ago when it got into the negatives, leaving us with no water. We were afraid they’d burst, but they didn’t because the weather suddenly got hotter after a few days. The good thing? Our water went back to normal. The bad thing? It was so sudden that the bottom floor of the house flooded from all the melted snow and ice both in the pipes and outside. On Christmas Eve. Nothing new for us, since it floods here all the time due to our crappy pipes, but it’s never happened in the middle of winter before.
