Hoping for the best @Ron Nasty. 
I’m on holiday, staying at my maternal grandmother’s presently. Still having the sinus headache and other clearing-out symptoms, so my voice is not quite back to form yet — hopefully it will be soon as I fully expect to show off my musical prowess before all my relations on Thanksgiving.

Offline I’ve been driving all day. We met my mom at my favorite restaurant. Before walking in, I saw the two emails @Ron Nasty sent me while I was driving. I gave him a call before sitting down to dinner. I hope all goes well with the tests! If we haven’t heard from him by this weekend, I will call him again.

@Ron Nasty Stay strong, man. We’re all wishing you well.
I finished my job today. For those who don’t know, for the last 16 years I’ve been working my way up the ranks at BBC online, and for the last few years I’ve been a senior producer. My project closes at the end of the year, and back in June I was given six months’ notice of redundancy. I’m fine about leaving; I’ve been bored for ages but couldn’t afford to just quit, and the Beeb’s a decent enough place to be.
I’m on paid leave until January, which is when I’m going to become fully self-employed. It’s a bit scary, but also exciting and liberating. I’m going to spend the next few weeks working up a plan for the future, getting my things in order, and also having a bit of a break from screens. I’ll still be checking in here though, just not tomorrow – I’m going to do a whole lot of nothing!

Offline Hope you’re singing “It’s getting better all the time” for decades to come, @Joe.
@Expert Textpert knows about Ahhh Mom’s cat. Well, the poor little kitty has bad sores on the pads of his paws again. We took him to the vet this evening. He was running a fever. We will be giving him medicine over the next few days.
Ahhh Mom and I went to see the movie Allied today. It s really good.

Well I guess it is a type of slushy, and the brand name is slurpee. Similar to tissues and the band name kleenex.

Offline I can’t wait for tomorrow because last week on our local TV show they chose John Lennon ! This show is very popular in my country and is basically about the contestants having to perform a song by a famous local or international artist, dead or alive, looking exactly like them and training during the week to try to get as close as they can to the singer’s voice and manners on stage (if some artist had some quirks on stage like rolling eyes or holding the guitar in a certain way, etc.). The name of the singer is revealed to the contestant at the end of the previous week’s show and they have one week to practice. The audience learns the name of the singer in real time, exactly when it is announced to the contestant but, unlike him/her, we’re only revealed what song will be performed during the following week, which, in this case, means tomorrow! I just can’t wait to know which song of John’s the producers have chosen and to hear if the contestant plays it out well! The only thing I’m sure of is that the hairdressers and make-up artists behind the scenes will have some tough job to do because said contestant looks nothing like John 😀
The second thing is that this Sunday I will be going to my first vinyl fair ever, obviously looking for some good deals on Beatles LPs and singles, hopefully before someone else grabs everything :’D If anyone has any good suggestions about what to look for it would be highly appreciated since I’m so confused at the moment!!
The only downside about today is that I found out UMG has taken yet another Beatles’ song off YouTube, Anna (Go To Him) (there’s still another version by the Beatles up but they took away the best one) so for me buying vinyls, aside from loving the sound they bring up, has also become a sort of revenge on them ;D

Offline I’m not the most talkative person ever, I don’t ever see the need to speak just to do conversation so to fill the silence nor have any desire for small talk, and have no interest in 99.8% of the tv programmes on at the moment. You can imagine therefore how little I say at work.
