I’m so unmotivated today. I’m zoning out at my desk while listening to early Genesis live recordings.

My Marching Band’s first competition for this year is on Saturday.  Our performance is only an exhibition, because we co-host this competition.  We will be judged and scored, but our score and place won’t be announced.

All the best for your competition, @William Shears Campbell !

I’m here in Boca Raton FL waiting on the hurricane. I was just on the Weather Channel website, and looked at the hourly forecast. Shows me 60-76 mph winds which means Cat 1 strength between 10pm and 1am. So we’ll be okay, and are lucky. Others though won’t be… this is a devastating storm and it’s going to hit north of me. Hoping once those bigger gusts start for us, the power doesn’t go out.

I saw a report of the hurricane on the news and I thought of you.  Stay safe.

First of all, my kid has his friends over and one of them said that I’m so old, I grew up with The Beatles. Also, after trying to convince my older brother to join this site, he finally decided not to because he wants his email to be for business and professional reasons only and he is skeptical about talking to complete strangers, although he thinks that it is fine if I do it. Also, I was reading a stupid SpongeBob cookbook my son has and there is 3 skill levels. However, 75% of the items are on the hardest skill level and they decided that making popcorn required level 3 skill, I’ve been making that s**t since I was 5 years old and the popcorn recipe in this book uses the microwave, not a pot on a stove top like I used to do when I was a little kid. Unless you’re under 2 years old or have special needs, you are able to cook microwave popcorn.

I wasn’t allowed to use the microwave until I was like eight.

If you grew up with the Beatles then you are old, especially from the view point of a kid. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, though. You should embrace it, and not be upset when people point it out.

I knew this was ET with the Genesis mention. Would someone ring me when the avatar and name changing ends?

On Wednesday evening, I received a call from our best friend. Her 16 year old nephew, a beautiful kid that Zag and I have known since he was born, has passed away. His mom went in to wake him up for school and he was unresponsive. As you can imagine, the family is inconsolable. Our hearts are aching.

We miss you , little buddy. heart

Dreadful news, @Zig. Many commiserations, to you, Zag, and all those affected. It always always difficult to lose someone so young with all that life ahead. Parents having to bury children is among the saddest things faced in life.

Heartbreaking. Truly heartbreaking.

It’s my mom’s birthday on Monday and I think I might call her and ask her if she wants to come over Thanksgiving. Also, my friend Bill got me an interview at his job, I can’t wait.

Maybe you should try posting more.

Been crazy busy with school recently, which is mainly why I haven’t been on the forum for about a month. I’ve been getting all these quizzes and tests, left and right and hours of homework (especially in math and French, which I’ve made far too many flashcards for 3 quizzes).

Not much has really been going on outside of school, though I’m trying my best to at least have some free time in my day and meet new people, so I’m not sitting around figuring out how to do a bunch of math problems. Only thing recent that has happened not involving school (besides my birthday) was that I got glasses for distance around mid or late September. Still trying my best to get used to them, though!

Gosh, 44 topics with unread posts, looks like I’ll be here a whilea-hard-days-night-paul-7

@Zig So sorry for your loss. Prayers are being sent your way heart

I am asking my school’s videographer to send me a copy of my set from homecoming, which included La Grange and Twist And Shout . Turns out, Mark David Chapman was in his graduating class.

We had a good long talk about The Beatles. I’ll post the video when I get it.
