Well the guessing penalty made you only answer if you knew the answer. If you got a correct answer then that was 1 point, if you got a wrong answer then you lost 1/4 of a point and if you didn’t answer you got 0 points. In the new one the -1/4 thing is gone and now you just get 0 points if you get a wrong answer.

Offline I watched the 1982 Laserdisc release of Star Wars earlier today with my nephew and oldest son at my son’s house, which is funny considering my nephew was born the same year the movie came out. Popcorn and beer sure make any movie a hell of a lot more enjoyable.

to these but i’m posting one so to myself i say 
(i’m not putting it in the ‘Beatle Moments’ thread).
Am currently packing for moving house (I don’t move for a few weeks but need to be organised due to work etc) which of course brings back a gatrillion memories of what has and has not been before and the first thing I hear coming wafting up the stairs from the kitchen is

Offline So there’s a big bad boy named Matthew heading my way. Supposed to get it in the early morning hours of Friday. We’re as prepared as we can be. Probably should evacuate but probably aren’t, the storm shutters are going up this afternoon. We rode out Wilma in 2005 living by the ocean. This will be like my fourth major hurricane since moving to Florida in 1992. First one was Andrew. So. If you notice radio silence after Friday morning, it’s probably because we have no power. That will suck. Post Wilma it was nearly two weeks before it was restored. At least there we had a gas stove and could cook and boil water etc. Not now. No power, no stove. We have non perishables here and plenty of water.

Offline As previously foreshadowed @HongKongLady is off to Manila tomorrow to comply with her tourist visa.
She has some family birthdays to attend and will catch up with her wonderful kids and granddaughter.
I hope she’s back this way before too long 😉

Offline Surprise!
I know I keep disappearing. Quite simply I’m staying at my Grandma’s and she has no Internet so I can only log on here and there, when I go out to a place with wifi or can get home for a couple of hours.
However I might be able to be around more often now as I have a new job at Costa Coffee where I get half an hour for lunch and there’s wifi!
Other than that everything is ticking along like normal.
