Met one of my bandmates in the park for lunch (and talked his ears off about Pink Floyd), then had a FABULOUS band practise. I got to play lots of bass, and at some point I ditched the plectrum and as a result acquired a lovely blister on my thumb (no, the other one Paul, ye lefty). (It was worth it, though!) I did, of course, make the obligatory ‘I GOT BLISTAS ON MA FINGAHS !’ crack, though unfortunately no one got the reference.
Then I got home and what did I see waiting on the doorstep for me but
— ON VINYL!!!
I haven’t played it yet but it looks to be in excellent condition. Now I’ve only to wait for my other purchase to arrive (see correct thread for more details)…
Oh happy days. Please excuse me whilst I dance about some more.

Got to see Eight Days A Week last night, after a free live music show by a local band called ‘More Popular than Klaatu.’ I donated, which was encouraged. They were awesome and did a bunch of Beatles songs. I think they said it was their first-ever live show together – after playing “I Want You (She’s so Heavy)” and that whole part at the end the lead guitar guy said “That’s the best thing that ever happened to me”. The whole group appeared to be having a BLAST. I hope they continue to be successful.
A few videos:
Also, my co-worker that came with me got us both the companion album to the movie. Beatles fans hook each other up!

Homecoming planning is really annoying me. My date is awesome, but the people “in charge” of the group suck at being in charge.

Ello all! Its been a minute. Even though I’m not on here much I still think about this place.
Last few months have consisted mostly work and the dark parts of life called death (life too), and work changes.
February a friend ours lost a sister.
May I lost my great uncle. I wasn’t close to him, but I still had fond memories.
June I lost my father in law.
July I lost one of the first clients I had for work. I wasn’t working for her at the moment, but I did see her the week before she died. I knew she was dying like I knew my father in law was dying, but she went quicker. Her, like my father in law were long time smokers. Smoking until their late 60s/mid 70s. It finally caught up with them.
Another friend had of ours had a father die in August. Again, long time smoker.
On the other hand, we have had quite few friends have babies over the last few months. So, its been quite emotional roller coaster to say the least.

Wow this makes my problems in the post above look like nothing. I’m terribly sorry for your losses, I hope things start looking better for you in the months to come. Deaths are very tragic, but then again I think some famous person or someone said “All Things Must Pass .” Best wishes to you, Sky

Hello!!! I’m baaaaack!!!!! Did you guys miss me? I missed you.
I’ve had quite a busy past little while: I went on a trip that consisted of sailing around multiple islands for five days, had school-related stuff to do, etc. And, last but definitely not least: I’m learning how to play the guitar!!! I even got a blister on my finger.
Eventually, however, after all of this excited left, I started missing the BB terribly, so I came back! I really like the new changes; seems strangely homey.
See ya ’round! I hope I don’t have to take another two-week-long hiatus again. That was terrible.

Welcome back @WeepingAtlasCedars! Oddly, I have literally just taken my guitar back out after quite the hiatus to try and get back on it. Youtube can be your friend. I’m still not sure if I want to do more chords/rhythm or lead. Maybe a combo of both? Chords just seem a bit daunting since with some certain chords I just can’t even. This is the same hand I smashed in the cardboard baler at work about a year ago so I’m not surprised ^^

Really? I’ve always found rhythm easier than lead — it’s why they let lead singers do it, so they can focus mostly on singing. ^-^
I guess to a beginner all those chords are daunting… it’s been a while I remember playing mostly melodies and half chords, and then gradually adding to my chord repertoire as whatever Beatles song I was learning had a new chord or two in it.

Struggling with previous maths exam questions. Primary school me would be absolutely disgusted to find out that college me is doing a maths module (hey I’m forced to do it for first year).
My exams aren’t until December but I like to have my crap sorted so I amn’t running around like a headless chicken a week beforehand.
Everything else is fine like management, economics, accounting etc. but bloody “maths for business” (which isn’t even stuff you’d use for business like if you don’t know what your fixed prices are on producing an item- then your business is f****d and you’ll be bankrupt within a month).
Gahhh I hate maths!!!!
Also college in general is a bit of a pain, I’ve only just finished week 3 and I’m up until midnight most nights doing out bloody notes and studying *grumble grumble*.
