Good to hear you got back home safely and that your friend is well on the road to recovery @ScrambledEggs. Will you be having a moving in party to celebrate your new apartment?

Well, the idea didn’t come to me until you mentioned it just there. I might, if my roommate agrees!!

I hope everything goes well for you regarding your new apartment.  🙂

Great news @Beatleva to hear everything went according to plan. Any idea what you are going get him as the present?

On a much more grim note my grandfather (who is 96)’s health has deteriorated to the extent that morphine has been granted and plans are in place for letting him die at home. Pardon my language but its rather shitty news even tho totally expected. But he’s had a great life and whilst openly admitting he’s not enjoying his health problems he is very happy at home and keeps very cheerful and is great to talk to on the phone. He wants us to celebrate his life not mourn our loss.

Could be days, could be months. These are the times where a drink appeals so much.

You posted this a few days ago, but I wanted to pass along my condolences. My grandfather has not long been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and, though of course it’s different to a physical illness, and we’re not at all close, it’s still sad to see them affected like that.

Your grandfather had a long and good life, and that’s what matters. He sounds like a good man.

hey @fabfouremily, great to see you around the place.

Thankfully my grandfather doesnt have Alzheimers as i couldnt cope with him losing him memory and not remembering us. Its a horrible illness and i can only offer my sympathy to yourself, your family and your grandfather. Its a shame to hear your not that close but of course i dont know the background.

How are you keeping anyway?

Thank you. I’m keeping busy, or certainly trying to. I’m not going back to college in September now, so I feel a little weight has lifted from my shoulders.

I should probably come on here more often as, each time I do, I find dozens of notifications to tell me my posts have been moved. You and the other mods are working hard, I see.

We lost an Aunt, my maternal grandmother and a dear family friend to this cursed disease. Having dealt with it so much, I can offer you a shoulder to lean on should it come to that, Em. You have my email address.

Thanks, Zig. I appreciate that. I think we’ve known for some time that he may be ill, so it’s not really ”news”. From what I’ve been told, he’s still at the stage where he’ll ask you the same thing time and time again. He has some family around him, so he’s not completely alone.

It would be great to have you on more @fabfouremily. The place aint the same without you.

Are you taking a year out from college or is that it with your studies?

Oh, no. I’m still planning on going to uni, so I have to study. I’m going to do it from home, and then maybe return next year. I’ll deal with that when I come to it. No idea if I have the self-discipline to study independently, but it should be the better option, anyway.

Well good luck with the home studies. In some ways its meant to be better than in a classroom.

Is it wrong to admit i can’t remember what the subject is? (That’s a hint for a reminder by the wayahdn_paul_02.)

What subject I want to study? Not at all. I don’t even know if I’ve ever said. I want to study Psychology, eventually postgrading in Clinical Psychology, if I can. I have quite a few years of study in front of me, I think.

Ooooh. Cognitive, Freud, Pavlov, conditioning, rewards and everything else i’ve forgotten. It can be confusing and hard to grasp at times but its fascinating and very rewarding a study. The very best of luck with your studies but like the others here who’ve udergone i’m convinced you’ll pass no bother.

Psychology is awesome, and very interesting too. It is quite difficult though. Well, I thought all the stuff about brains was quite difficult, because it’s so much and some things are so similar.

@ScrambledEggs Congrats on the appartment!

I’ve been working out a lot the past week. I find it a good way to release all of the anger and sadness I’ve got inside. Oh also, I’ve got a job interview on Monday. I’d applied for a job in a kiosk in the hospital. They sell books, magazines, cards and all. I hadn’t heard anything back, but this woman phoned me yesterday to tell me they would like to invite me for a job interview. I’d like to have this job, I can pick the hours myself, the kiosk is open every day from 9 to 19.00 so I should be able to plan something. It’ll be a nice distraction and not too stressful combined with school and my internship, plus money is always nice.
