I’ve been gone for a couple of months so I might as well update you guys on what’s been happening in my totally super awesome cool life.

School has got me really busy, but it’s been a good year so far, especially because I’m in the football team and the teachers love me (they have always liked me, but this year I feel more the love). Now I’m starting a period with a lot of tests (we have this every year around this time, two weeks, one test per day), but I had two and so far I’m doing good, and my friends too. Today we had the Math test and If my answers are right, my best friends got 12 and 9 (12 is the highest), and according to them, they “suck at Math”, so I’m really proud of them. I’m the one who tends to have the highest grades, so whenever they get the highest or a high one I feel really proud of them, as If I was their mother.

My English classes have also kept me quite busy, this year I have my first international exam and my teacher really wants to prepare us. To be honest, I’ve done a few ones for practice, and I don’t find them that difficult, except for the speaking and the writing part with the word limit (I’ll never know who writes a 45-word email inviting someone to the cinema, but I want to pass so I might as well invite my English friend Jack to the cinema next week in only 44 words). But in general I’m doing great and I only have this and another year left, and I’ll finish.

And I don’t know what else to tell you, I’ve been getting into a lot more classic rock (Janis Joplin, Patti Smith, Heart and Blondie mainly), in two weeks I’m going to my favourite player’s farewell match, and I think that’s it.

I’ll see If I can log in a little more, especially because I’ve been on my classic rock adventure for a while now, so it’s been quite a long time since I last listened to The Beatles, so I’m trying to come back to what started my love for classic rock.

Part 1:My cellphone is broken. I feel very torn about it. On one hand, I don’t want to cost my dad a lot of money. On the other hand, I hate the big, ugly thing. We’re going to see if buying a new battery will fix it.

It ended up being unfixable. I got my new phone today. My number is the same.

Now I’m customizing it. It’s starting to feel like home now.

I am not doing well.

On and off for the last 4 years, I have been getting carpal tunnel syndrome. People typically think that carpal tunnel syndrome is a minor issue and most of the time that is correct. Most cases go away on their own Within 2 weeks. However some cases ARe more severe then that. I often have it for periods of months. And it’s appears 2 b getting worse. It can B very frustrating 2 live with. The Loss of grip strength it causes can make everyday tasks such As using a door handle, holding a Fork or using a toothbrush very difficult. I wanted 2 smoke a cigarette today and I dropped the pack several times before even pulling 1 out. Here is how bad it’s gotten: I have Been playing guitar 4 more then half my life and I am seriously considering giving it up 4 good, as it has made it difficult 2 hold a pick or even shape my hand. It’s May sound a bits alarmist butt it’s not really an exaggeration 2 say that I’m slowly losing the use of my right hand. And that’s not even beginning 2 describe how physically painful this can B. Unfortunately the only way out of this cycle is an unpleasant surgery which I can’t afford anyway. This surgery is unpleasant because it involves cutting open the wrist and manually separating components in the arm and is typically done while the patient is awake and aware. Needless 2 say I am concerned and scared about what the future entails.

I probably don’t need 2 say this butt this post was done through voice recognition software.

I have had carpal tunnel symptoms on and off through the years. You can get soft braces to sleep in at night, do you have those? They keep your wrists from turning in on themselves while you sleep. And of course you can get ones to wear during the day, too. I just wear them when I’m having symptoms.

Also, make sure your workstation is ergonomic. You can get one of those split keyboards that put less pressure on your wrists. And the main thing is whatever repetitive action you are doing all the time, stop doing it for a while. Put your phone down, watch a movie, go for a walk, etc.

I’ve been having quite a busy life recently, especially this month. On the 4th of July, I walked roughly 3-4 miles in a parade, chanting, and handing out candy to children. It was definitely tiring, as when I got home I didn’t have much effort to do anything else for the remainder of the day. I also visited my camp on the 9th (which I won’t be attending this year, due to some medical problems last year) and met a new friend, who, surprisingly, is a Beatles fan! I also visited one of my best friends house and went swimming and played some games and made water balloons up to about 25 pounds (no, we didn’t throw them at each other, throwing the balloons into a pool really hard isn’t usually the smartest idea). A few days ago, I face timed one of my good friends that moved away last summer, which it was definitely nice to talk to her for about an hour or two. And yesterday, my friend invited me to her boat at a local dock, which was pretty fun. We even got to go jet skiing, which was a whole lot of fun, besides it breaking down in the ocean and thinking “Oh my god, when will this thing start up again!” but luckily, we came back to shore and went swimming in the ocean for a while.

Not great, @Necko. Hope you find a solution.

My phone died last night. Middle of sending someone a text. It suddenly started scrolling through connection after connection while not reacting to any other instruction. Took the battery out a few times and, soon as I’m back in, it keeps doing the same.

Looks like I’ll be getting a new phone.

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8a-hard-days-night-ringo-8Yes, sorry to hear that your in pain @Necko . I’ve managed data entry operators for over 30 years so I’m very familiar with the condition. ET’s advise is a very good starting point and could help you avoid surgery. However if that ends up being the best option it is very common even though it sounds scary. Our insurance company has even allowed employees to return to data entry after successful surgeries, which most have done without any reoccurrences of pain. etc… You didn’t mention if you have seen a specialist but that is essential before it gets worse and you have less options.

I do have those things and have Been using them. This current bout of it has only Been going on for 3 or 4 days so it is 2 early 2 say that anything is working or not working. This current 1 is probably the worst yet. I have however been laying off it As 1 is supposed 2 do. I am also using my non-dominant left hand whenever possible As it Hurts a lot Less.

Thank you silly girl and Ron nasty 4 your sympathy.

Edit: I “wrote” this post before Psy butterfly replied. Thank you too. Getting a specialist is probably the next Step.

Did I mention it’s mid winter down this way? Lots of toasty minus 7 nights and tops of 8-12 or so (all degrees C).

A little cool for HKL coming from the mid to high 30s; and who has never experienced a temperature below zero before.

I have my own personal eskimo 🙂
