Sorry to hear about the health issues and it leading to the job falling through. Hopefully, and selfishly, it means you’ll be able to be around here more though. That will be a good thing as you’ve been missed.
Glad to hear that the visa got approved, @HongKongLady. It least that’s a positive.
Met @meanmistermustard for drinks today. Took him up past the Law Courts where so many of the legal cases involving the Boys over the years have been played out, and we went to a pub on Fleet Street that had been one of their first London watering holes.
I was very disappointed by mmm. He wasn’t mean at all. Hopefully I wasn’t too Nasty.

Yes, really happy about the visa after the last one was refused and we had to put up with a 7-month wait to see one-another again.

It’ rubbish that they have let you go after all this time. Are you able to say what the role was or will you be snatched off the streets by some government defendant and fed to wombats.
Really good that @HongKongLady is allowed in for three months. Do you have any plan when you are together or is it take each day as it comes.
It’s nice to have you around, even if it is for a short interjection – tho hopefully it will be for longer.

Offline I think, no I have come to the answer that at times the answer to the question is that there is no answer to the question. No answer is the answer and that therefore is to be accepted in a good positive way. That way you stop searching for the answer as you already have it, tho you don’t to other eyes.

Agree re the job – very frustrating. Back to square one.
We are day to day at the moment as I’m just waiting on an operation date for a small bit of surgery and have a notable birthday coming up next week.
After that there may be the sound of bells …. 😉

Thanks; and yes, now I know about them I can treat and manage them and they are all manageable – which makes the job thing more annoying as I’m feeling really good now that I have the proper meds and HKL is here.
I should be able to spend more time in these parts since I now don’t have to keep an eye on the security nonsense from a certain department 😉

Well @Ahhh Girl – the job thing is back to base one *deep sigh*.
If we did just happen to get married 🙂
… you know – by accident – we would have to apply for another visa; which should be much easier to have approved given that they have now granted a one-year validity tourist visa. We would apply once the tourist visa is up as we would then have spent close on a year together and they would look at it much more favourably. The permanent visa also has a right of appeal if we don’t like the decision – unlike the tourist one – so it’s looking really positive on that front.

Um… beginner tips. Well, there’s a nice thread about guitar-ing here, for starters, and… I’m trying to think back on Ye Olden Days when I first started fretting. 
Okay, first things first: It’s going to hurt like hell. Everyone says it because it’s true. Accept it and move on, and your fingers will acclimate soon– within a week or two if you practise daily.
AnnaShine40? also has a good point– it’s difficult in the beginning to keep your fretting tight, because your fingers are weak, soft, and unused to the positions, but always keep your fingers on that string, no buzzing. You don’t have to killer-grip it, but loose = sloppy (you don’t have to work so hard on electrics as acoustics, which is why ideally one should begin on acoustic. I’m assuming your guitar is acoustic.).
At the same time, don’t be too hard on yourself– you work your fingers out pretty good, and then you deserve a rest. Take breaks.
When I started, I would often ‘cheat’ and use partial chords instead of full six-string ones; I have mixed feelings about anyone else doing it, though, because, while my music theory didn’t suffer and I soon graduated to the real things, I wouldn’t recommend it, as you really need to know the full chords.
Barred chords: infamous throughout the musical world for being physically taxing, they are. What they are is a chord in which a finger (usually the first) clamps down across multiple strings (commonly across the fretboard), and in the beginning, it’s very difficult to get them clean and buzz-free. Don’t worry, no one starts out awesomely; it takes time to build up the hand strength to do them properly. Practise, practise, practise! They all say it cause it’s true.
Last words: Practise daily like a good girl should, don’t get discouraged, and always have fun!

Offline I can announce that I have not been buying more ukuleles, only playing them. I did a parody rap of Ridin the other day and people liked it more than my ukulele songs so I might have to do a ukulele rap to force them to bow to my uke powers.
