I have had an amazing first two weeks of summer so far. Got accepted for a second job as well as a trip to Ottawa in August and went to my first Pride parade and festival last weekend. Just yesterday I got myself the wonderful ‘Pure McCartney” and I am listening to it right now 
. Also yesterday, I went on basically my first official date with a guy that I’ve been really into, and it was an amazing evening :). Lastly, my graduation is soon coming up, and I really don’t feel ready to move on from school yet.

Offline the first day was well actually. There were live shows (no artists I knew) and one of the groups called themselves ‘Martha My Dear ‘, an all-lesbian Beatles cover group. They really weren’t the best, but I just sang along and had a good time. The second day was the parade, and I later joined the parade walk with my friends. I actually met the person who I went out with yesterday at the Parade, so we saw each other before. Some souvenirs I got were a fridge magnet, a rubber wrist bracelet (it broke 🙁 ) and a button.

I’ve just had formal notice that my job is being closed, and I’ll be made redundant at Christmas. I’ve mentioned this here before but it’s definitely happening now. I’m not worried, though slightly sad to be leaving a decent company that I’ve been with for over 16 years. But I get a good payoff and will be able to become a full-time writer/blogger (at least until it’s no longer financially viable). They’ve offered to redeploy me in another job (if something suitable were to come up) but I’d rather just go.
Lots to plan, a few uncertainties, and some trepidation. But it’ll be good for me. I’ve been wanting to leave for a while but couldn’t afford to just quit. I’ll take some time off over Christmas then I’ll be treating this site as a full-time job: writing, promoting content, filling in the gaps, redesigning, and adding much more pics and video. I’ll need to work out a structure to my day so I get the most out of it – I’ll be working from home so motivation might be an issue. Exciting though!
I’m also considering some non-Beatles project ideas, though they’re in the very early planning stages and I need to work out what’s feasible. The priority, though, will be to raise the traffic on this place and finish and publish my Beatles book, so stay tuned. In the meantime, sorry for the sustained absences here, but you’ll be seeing a lot more of me in the new year.

It may not be as much a challenge as you expect. Zag works two days a week from home, as do her co-workers. They found they are much more productive without the usual office atmosphere distractions.

@Zig I don’t think motivation will be too hard tbh. It’ll be quiet and I’ll be able to get in with stuff without distraction, plus I can theoretically work anywhere. I think it might actually be harder to force myself to switch the computer off and get some fresh air!

Offline Still waiting on my guitar to arrive from Amazon, it seems like it’s been forever since I ordered it (June 4) and I could really use a little distraction right now. I’m also about to make a checklist for the trip to Nashville on Sunday. It’s kind of beginning to dawn on me that I’m about to actually go see a Beatle in concert. It’s all a bit surreal right now. Trying not to freak out and *squee* all over the place. ^^;
