He better be….haha! Nah, I know he’ll make me forget all about my worries. This just isn’t the kind of stress I need right now, you know? Tomorrow will drain me of all my energy and then some, so I really need to be able to relax and get some rest tonight.

A good rhythm section is invisible precisely because you don’t hear mistakes. Not that most people would notice, but I hate getting “haha that was a bad note” looks from guitarists

I just found out I’ll be teaching a 5 year old lad who was in Australia for the year (so missed out on his first year of Irish primary school) the Irish language for the summer. That should be fun, now I just need to find out what you actually learn in first year of primary school as I have no recollection whatsoever *goes and plays with márla/play dough*
In 6th grade (age 12-13 in sweden) my science teacher was from Ireland and on our last lesson she tried to teach us some Irish words… apparently we all repeated them with a Chinese accent
side note: have loads of fun @Mademoiselle Kitty >^..^< and good luck!

It’s 90+ degrees out, my guitar still hasn’t come yet, I’m anticipating next Sunday. Nothing to do really, just waiting on payday. Not to mention Paul is currently playing a show in Europe, hehe. Maybe I should do some drumming on Rock Band 3 to pass the time…..or watch A Hard Day’s Night . Or Help !.

My kids. Oh boy, where to begin?
Three weeks ago I got a call from Ted’s (5) school saying he’d fallen in the playground and had a suspected broken arm. He’d broken both bones in his forearm, and had an operation the next day under general anaesthetic to get it properly fixed and set.
Then a week later Rosie (2) fell over in a park and fractured her right arm. It wasn’t as bad a break as Ted’s, but she’s been in plaster too.
Today we went to see my mum and brother for a birthday meal. On the way back Rosie fell over again (she’s a toddler; it’s what they do). She complained about hurting her knee and cried as I carried her home, then slept for a couple of hours. When she woke her knee was fine, but we noticed she wasn’t using her left arm.
A few hours in Accident & Emergency later, the x-ray showed that, yes, she’s broken her other arm. It’s the same place that she broke it about 18 months ago, and it healed with a slight bend, so i guess it was maybe left a bit vulnerable.
She’s got suspected osteogenesis imperfecta (brittle bones); we’re still awaiting results of a recent blood test. But it does definitely seem that she’s susceptible to breakages – when she was one she fell off a step and they think she broke her foot, though that one wasn’t conclusive.
Right now she’s dosed up on ibuprofen and is happy beans (my phone makes photos go sideways, but here she is blowing raspberries at me). We’re back in the hospital to see a specialist on Tuesday and work out what the hell we should do. Maybe get her one of those Zorb balls to live in.
Two broken arms, and one for the boy! Send healing vibes this way, please.

Ahhh Girl, Beatlebug, JoeI say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

I suggested wrapping Rosie up in bubble wrap.
I can’t imagine what Joe and Ellie are going through right now.

Was putting in irrigation yesterday, not fun having to crawl in and out of bushes every five minutes.
I found an Edison Diamond Disc record, it’s really thick and can only be played by a specific phonograph. I regret not buying it.

I thought I’d put it behind me, but I find myself unable to really let go of what happened on Sunday. It’s not even the fact that I didn’t get to see Paul or give that present. It goes deeper than that. His PA made me feel like a nobody when he broke his promise. It’s as if people like me don’t matter at all; the complete opposite of how Paul likes to treat people. If he had simply said no, I would have accepted that. But he said yes, and then proceeded to ignore me. That’s what hurts. And it bothers me. Childhood trauma, I guess. I’ve had to fight long and hard to believe I am somebody worthy of being regarded as an actual person, and that just got stomped on by one very inconsiderate man who had the power to make my day by keeping a very simple promise. I mean, I didn’t even ask to see Paul, I only asked him to forward that gift. How much clearer than ‘you can give it at the end of the show’ does it get? So yeah, that’s going on in my life right now. Trying very hard to move past that feeling.

Its a crap thing to happen to you @Mademoiselle Kitty >^..^< and not at all how you should have been treated but try to focus on the good parts of going and not to personalise it (and who knows what happened behind the scenes). You won’t be the only one who has that happen to them so try not to take it too personally or let it affect or cloud your day. Whoever did this to you doesn’t deserve your thoughts or time wasted on him.
Me, I am having a very quiet relaxing day doing little aside from slowly tidying and cleaning the house. My work schedule was 6 days off, 4 out of 5 working (long hours too) and now 5 days off. I was knackered come Monday.

You’re right, @meanmistermustard. And I’ll put it behind me soon enough. It just sucks right now. Even if he’d taken it and then thrown it in the rubbish bin, I would’ve felt better just *thinking* it was given to Paul, you know? Anyway, I’m always emotionally vulnerable when I’m this tired. It’ll pass in a day or two.
Enjoy your days off! Sounds like you’ve more than deserved them.

Oh, yeah. I absolutely went the distance and then some. It’s definitely not my lack of enthusiasm that’s to blame. And you know what? I’m bloody proud of myself. I went so far out of my comfort zone for this, I may as well have been in a different solar system. I’m always the girl hugging the walls, missing out on the fun because she’s too timid to speak up or move in when the chance arises. This time, I promised myself I would do everything in my power to reach my goal and not let my introversion stop me. And that’s exactly what I did, so I am very, very proud of that. The fact that someone else cocked it up doesn’t change that I did everything I set out to do.
And of course, it was a wonderful day. I’ve spent half the day smiling, bopping to the music, and really getting out of my shell. It wasn’t just because of The Jacket that the camera people repeatedly showed me on the big video screens or that I got interviewed twice. I was having fun, and it showed. I’ve got some brilliant memories which nobody can take away from me. Even getting stranded, though anything but pleasant when it happened, has a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ to it. It sort of completes the adventure. It was my Mad Day Out and mad it was, but what a day!
I’m glad I’ve poured out my heart, though. Writing it down helped. It’s mostly out of my system now, and I feel much less heavy-hearted about it. I’m grateful to have found this place where the people are so loving and understanding. The fact that I felt safe enough to share it here speaks volumes. The Forumpudlians can consider that one of the biggest compliments I can give You guys rock!
