I just experienced a huge thrill. We had a Team USA Olympian visit our office today. She is a three-time medal winner (2 gold and a silver). I got to hold one of her gold’s – the one from London! Still shaking…

Have I mentioned that my library is getting a new boss? Well, we are. She has some great ideas, and she listens to us. I think we are going to get along just fine in this yellow submarine.

^That’s grand, AG! Having spent the past week working quite closely with my fellow people, I have gained a rather more extensive appreciation of having a good team.
The denouement (of the project alluded to here) was today (actually we’ve not exactly finished the project– there’s still more filming to be done– but we showed a short preview to whet everyone’s appetites and we shall continue work on it… after a nice long break) and ’twas quite grand. And after class we had a noice little party in the park for my birthday last week and a couple of other birthdays which are around this time (one of my classmates shares the exact day as myself, and another’s was today). ‘Twas a grand larf, and as I’m sure you all know, having a grand larf is pretty much the entire point of my existence. It was also the largest birthday party I’ve had since I was like five, and it was much more fun than those were, because, me being an introvert, it’s taken me this long to sort of get the hang of this socialisation thingy (and I’m only good at it with people I know) and also I don’t like parties where not everyone knows everyone, but this time most people knew each other so it went quite well, and (and this is important) we’re not toddlers and preschoolers anymore, so everyone shared just fine.
Anyways, it was quite a nice end to a crazy, rather stressful, but quite fun week, and now the prospect of at least a couple days of downtime with no socialisation ever, and sitting around in my room catching up with my unanswered correspondence, sounds absolutely FABULOUS.

In choir class today, the teacher was taking suggestions for songs for us to sing. I said that any Beatles song would work, and so we got to sing Let it Be!
….though of course nobody seemed very happy with the decision!!!!!!!!!!!!
Other than that, everything is pretty normal in the Weeping Atlas Cedar forest.

I woke up this morning with f**king pink-eye!
I’m not sure how I caught it, I just woke up and couldn’t open my right eyelid when I eventually prised it open, it was all red .
I went into school earlier and some girl said “ewww what’s wrong with your eye???”
So I went home. I’m so bloody lucky I don’t have any auditions anytime in the near future because I think I’d scare away any casting director!
Bloody nuisance so it is, on the plus side though I got to go home from school early!
I’m lucky I only have a mild dose of it anyways, with the only symptom being my blood vessels are a bit darker than normal and it’s difficult to keep my eyelid as open as the left one.
Anyhoo, I’ll have to march on.

^ The lovely faces have me cured it’s a miracle.
Oh wait…
No they haven’t but there has been a 20% improvement, thanks!
(I was thinking of getting an eye-patch and dressing like a pirate tomorrow, just to take the mick of it. I’d have people staring at me anyways so might as well have a laugh while we’re at it).

That stinks having one eye worse than the other. The eye patch is a good idea you could look like Pirate George.

One eye isn’t technically worse than the other, it just goes a bit blurry every now and again but when I blink it clears up so it’s grand.

I can imagine you after hearing the news that your old boss was/is on the way out…
Hope the pink eye clears up soon, @AppleScruffJunior.

You hit the nail on the head, @Ron Nasty. We are breathing sighs of relief. And to sweeten the news, the Assistant Director who retired last year has been convinced to come back out of retirement to help us out to get things running smoothly again. I am one happy camper!

In my life, just got back home from a morning out (dentist/orthodontist appointments)… not much fun but I got to binge-listen to Pink Floyd in the car so it’s all good and now I’m ‘Home, home again… I like to be here when I can’. I haven’t been spinning nearly as many records as usual lately due to all the busyness so I’m going to be playing everything I can get my hands on for the rest of the week, to make up for it.
