Yeah, they don’t look comfortable at all, @Starr Shine? .

It’s going to be a beautiful weekend here with sunny skies and temps in the 70’s. Ol’ Zig is gonna have to bust out the lawn mower either tomorrow or Sunday as the grass is getting a bit long.

Any Friday Night Whites yet, @Ahhh Girl ?

To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

Well, the trash pick up day has changed. blue-meanie The dude is coming on Friday mornings now instead of Saturday mornings. That means I can have any-night-of-the-week Whites now. That distresses me a bit because it has been so easy to discipline myself to get the mowing done on Friday nights. Now I feel so wishy-washy about when to do it. At least the Whites will keep me company whichever night I choose to listen to them.

That, my friends, is a perfect example of a first-world problem.

As far as the Amazon credit, I just need to start clicking on some random headers and see where I end up.

Woo hoo!!!

I finally have a fully functioning TV again.

TV died some time on Monday night. Couldn’t get to the shop to buy a new one until Wednesday. Plugged it in, and was only getting around half the channels (and no BBC channels, which considering my most viewed channel is BBC News was a bit of a downer).

Played with the aerial lead, and lost all the channels.

Been entertaining myself the past couple of days watching things I’ve downloaded from the interweb. (The new TV has this nice little feature where you can plug a USB stick into it, and it will play any video files on it).

And, you know…

there’s only so much adult material you can watch…

without going blind!

And I couldn’t do anything about it until today because I’d spent all me money on the TV. Got paid again today, straight down to Argos to buy an amplified indoor aerial, and with a little fiddling, I now have all my channels again!

When I was doing all my frustrating playing with the TV on Wednesday, had my glasses sitting on top of my bald head, and they fell off somewhere along the line. Can I find the feckin’ things, of course not.

So, down to the opticians tomorrow to get some new glasses so I can actually see the sodding TV properly, and maybe find my glasses.

This has been a week of, if it can go wrong it will go wrong!

Friday night in. I’m not the party animal I used to be *ahem* . Yes. Anyway. Glass of chardonnay to hand, now deciding what I want to do. Listen to some vinyl, or see what’s on / watch a movie / Netflix? Takeout for dinner so I don’t have to worry about cooking tonight.

Tomorrow night is my cousin’s wedding reception. She got married to her Swedish sweetheart last month. They did it at the courthouse and will have a nice church wedding in Sweden this summer with his family present.  He’s got an aunt here visiting right now and another family member so they’ll be there tomorrow.  My other cousin (her sister) is down from North Carolina, as well, she lives in Asheville.

Other than that, those are my weekend plans so far. I can’t find a near enough participating store to do anything for Record Store Day tomorrow. I have a friend who does and is going out and is picking me up a David Bowie picture disc of TV15 if she can find one and she’ll send it to me.

Your words. Not mine.

My thought was more along the lines of having The Beatles or The Beatles Bible make my day melt away.

Sometimes though, when I am feeling lazy, I could spend hours on here. Like this morning for example.

Time to drag my butt out of the recliner and take Lily for a hike. After that, do much yard work. So much for lazy…

Later tonight, I’m treating Zag to a nice dinner out. She has been working very hard at shedding winter weight and has reached her target. Today is “cheat day”. Zig likes cheat day.

Have a great day all!

I’m going out hula-hooping, once I finish another page of Klaus’ book.

(I don’t think I’ll get the entire chapter done, if I finish the page that I’m doing now and take a break for a few hours, I still have 6 and a 1/2 pages left to go which is about 3 hours of work. He’s using difficult German at the minute so I have to keep on picking up my dictionary which is quite annoying to say the least. That and he has a terrible habit of writing very short sentences that look very disjointed in a paragraph so I have to flesh them up a bit so it doesn’t look as out-of-place. Gah Klaus!)

I was filling out the Census form (a week in advance, naughty me). I don’t know if I should tick that I speak Irish on a ‘Daily Basis: Inside The Education System’ or on a ‘Daily Basis: Outside The Education System’ because I do both, teaching Irish and then I sometimes do work in Irish/talk to friends in Irish a-hard-days-night-paul-7.

Also the satisfaction of ticking the ‘No Religion’ box is lovely a-hard-days-night-john-6.

That does sound like a lot of work. I appreciate your going through all of that and look forward to reading it when you have time to finish.

The snooker has started on the BBC and lasts for 17 days. Aside for work its going to be difficult to prise myself away from the sofa.

Well, I bought something with my Amazon credit. I didn’t really *need* the item, so it is kind of a splurge…but not quite in the category of “blowing it”. I’ve had my eye on it for some time. It accommodates a 128GB card so I can put everything on one card to have with me at all times. It is supposed to make Beatles music sound better than the rinky-dink mp3 players I’ve been using. I had to add a little money to it to make up the difference.
