Did you get cake at the reception? Weddings are worth it to get cake.

They didn’t have one paul-mccartney instead we (the guests) had to watch them do all their cutsy bride and groom stuff

A wedding with no cake? The cutesy bride & groom stuff usually includes watching them stuff each others’ gobs with hands full of cake. What gives?

They had pie.

I am you as you are you as you are you and you are all together.

ASJ is correct. The ceremony is for the bride and groom. The party is for the guests and GUESTS WANT CAKE. Any of you who get married in the coming years or decades, please remember this.

What on earth is wedding pie? And who wants such a horrid concoction? And what type of pie was this travesty? Its a moral and social expectation that if you have to sit thru a wedding ceremony there should be a huge great cake at the end.

I think lack of cake is sufficient reason to be demanding back the wedding present you gave (if you didnt give one then take someone else’s). And thats coming from someone who doesnt like wedding cake.

That’s such a travesty. I don’t even want to think about how awful that is right now. Fine, don’t have cake at your own wedding–maybe neither couple likes cake. (Don’t even get me started on that one.) But lemon meringue! People nowadays. At least have pies to choose from. At least have chocolate peanut-butter pie, or something.

Even if you don’t like cakes, can you really make a multilayered pie with little stick figures on top?

I’m very passionate about food.

Lemon meringue pie is easily one of the most boring pies I know of, plus its horrible. Definitely have options or give guests pre-warning so they can bring their own; you don’t just serve it without notice.

Actually, I love lemon meringue pie – just not at a wedding.

It would have served them right if the bride & groom statuettes on top of the pie started sinking into the meringue like quicksand.

An omen perhaps?

You can have my slice @Zig.

I hope @trcanberra and @HongKongLady are reading this. We could give them a wedding list of what to do and not do for their eventual nuptials. a-hard-days-night-john-3

They can have that instead of me having to go and buy them a feckin’ gravy boat.

Lesson one – no wedding pie.

Lesson two – no gift lists with fancy presents that are just taking advantage of the event and rip me off. a-hard-days-night-paul-3

When?

I might have to find an excuse to be in downtown Raleigh… a-hard-days-night-george-10

It was supposed to be this Thursday but the trip got cancelled. The state manager’s son had an emergency appendectomy and understandably wants to stay close to home. It’s very hard to coordinate visiting that many offices in one week so it probably won’t be rescheduled until next year. Oh well, at least I should have some uke songs under my belt by then – maybe I can sit in for a session with your band a-hard-days-night-george-10. This was going to be my tour poster, inspired by mmm.

Ooo, I hope you tour in Oklahoma some time soon, Sigh Butterfly!

You could be on to something @Ahhh Girl 🙂 The North Carolina trip got cancelled so I may try to schedule another state that has less locations. Most of our OK clients are in Tulsa, but we also provide support for offices in these cities. So who knows, the sigh butterfly tour may be visiting your hometown soon!paul-mccartney

Another quick update – @HongKongLady’s son graduates from Primary School tonight and she is attending the graduation ceremony in a couple of hours. While I wish she was here it’s also great that she can be there for an event like this.

Can’t wait to see pics of the jacket when it’s finished.

Well….it’s not finished yet, but I added something I think is very gear: a real, vintage (1970’s) transfer of the old Wings logo.

I’ll let you know when it’s finished. I’m still waiting for some stuff to arrive, so it might be a while.

Thanks. it looks like this logo is actually quite rare. I’ve only seen in in relation to the 1976 Wings over Wembley concerts. I’d guess it was used for more things, I just haven’t been able to find any other examples. Either way, I like it better than the other, more angular Wings logo.

That is awesome @Mademoiselle Kitty >^..^< . There was a time my fav jacket had so many patches, pins and buttons that the sheer weight made it hard to dance 🙂 My daughter is going on a college graduation tour of Europe soon (10 cities in 30 days). I’m trying to find some Acda en de Munnik gear for her to wear in Amsterdam, but so far no luck.

Have a great time @DrBeatle hiding from the world whilst enjoying having time to spend with the family. One of the best things you can do is get away from it all.

Tonight Scotland beat the Czech Republic 1 – 0 in one of the most pointless games of football ever played between two teams. I seriously doubt anyone from anywhere cared in any way over the match. Utterly meaningless in every conceivable way.

Thanks, @meanmistermustard! We got back last night and back at it today at work, but that was so good for my body and soul. I needed that…the only bad thing is now I’m already counting the days until I can have more time off! :-p
