After many false starts and mixed messages it appears I HAVE in fact been offered a job – pending a successful security clearance. If all goes well I will be in the job by the end of April / early May.
And yes, it’s with my friends in the Department of Immigration and Border Protection; in their Learning and Development Team.
And most likely running their internal library as part of my duties
Bravo, trc! What a relief that must be for you.

Well, that’s that, lads. I’ve analysis-ised The Plot Against America till I’m about blue in the face, and I’m off to bed. Let’s see if I don’t dream about Charles Lindbergh tonight.
Next month I’m starting before this month is even out!

Thank you @Ahhh Girl for your message!
Hello, fab members! I had been away for sometime cause I got a little busy, and then I just kinda drifted away from the forum …the way it is with many of us. So, guess where I was during the last few months? In the US! I was in the mid-west as part of a cultural exchange program and I miss it so much now!

My foot wasnt zapped due to other long term health issues; lots of deliberation and talking quietly between those who know better than I before they asked if it was ok not to go ahead. I’m not going to say “Nah. I’ll ignore all your concerns and go ahead even tho you all think we shouldn’t”. So they are going to contact my local GP and consultant and other departments and decide which way is forward.
They also have no idea what is in my foot; there was lots of pointing and deliberating over that as well. Lovely.

The latest @HongKongLady update.
It seems they ARE able to wire up her house for the internet – so hopefully she will be back in these parts within the next 7 to 10 working days.
Yay!
I heard Lady of the Island on the way to work this morning and thought of your Lady of the Islands @trcanberra . Hope we get to hear from her soon – I love her positive insight into our forum topics and life in general.

Nice to see you again SFF. I’m glad you enjoyed your visit to the US. Which state(s) did you visit?
I stayed in southern Indiana and visited Illinois, Tennessee, and California (not the big cities though). But it was great!

I left it to this morning so a simple wholemeal. I do always plan to experiment but i always leave no time or forget to work out what I would need.

Ensure its not an audience participation evening; I mistakenly attended one of those and left after about 7 minutes. One of the worst events i’ve ever attended.

^ It’s one of the West-End touring shows so I expect there to be some kind of audience participation, so long as everyone is sticking to the general “audience participation script”, it should be fine. The majority of people should know not to be constantly yelling so as not to be distracting the actors….well I hope .
It’s coming to your part of the woods in August at the King’s Theatre, if you want to give it a re-go. The cast is meant to be excellent but I’m kind of disappointed we didn’t get the great cast that were in the live-cinema stream production but ah well.

Went to the dentist today. Always so much fun when you have to have cotton things shoved into your mouth so they can put some sealance

Yep, loads of larks. Can’t think of anything I’d rather do.
Not nearly as bad as the fiendish thingy they put in my mouth whilst putting the brackets on me teeth for the braces though.

If you have second row seats to an audience participation screening of this film, may I suggest you bring a strong umbrella rain gear a HazMat suit? Most people who attend such performances tend to have a strong desire to participate paired with weak throwing arms. That is not a comforting combination given the location of your seats.

Rice and water have been banned, I’m fine with confetti!
I’m going to a matinee show which should end around 7:30pm and the next show starts at 8:30 so I don’t expect anyone will be allowed to go too wild because the workers wouldn’t be able to clean it up in time.
I have my flashlights and newspapers ready for ‘There’s a Light’.

It was hell. I went to watch the film not hear the audience call out the lines or have folk dance in front of the screen.
I’d rather watch ITV during the daytime for 3 days in a row.
