The ‘possibly to be renamed’ hongkonglady has asked me to say “Hi” on her behalf to all on the BB.Her data ran out on her phone plan last night – luckily she can still use one Instant Messaging app and Facebook.
We are still waiting to hear if her house is in an area where she can get the internet connected.
Tell her that we miss her and wish her the best of luck with her internet.
Thanks – message passed along. At least she has some company today – my brother is on the way over now to say hi.

I got new glasses yesterday. Boy, did I need them. I had no doubt that my prescription changed as I was having trouble reading things in the distance. I’m still adjusting to how they feel on my face, but I definitely can see a lot better.

Stupid things that Necko did that you should never do #2:
Yesterday , we bought a four-pound (roughly 1.81 kg) container of jelly beans. I wanted some jelly beans today. I grabbed the container by the top. Apparently, I didn’t screw the top on all the way last night. Four pounds of multi-colored jelly beans spilled all onto the floor. At least it looked pretty.

I have done a similar thing with my water bottle. Repeatedly. You’d think I’d have learned by now.

In other news, The Offbeats had a FABULOUS jam today, and also, it seems we’ve got a gig!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!! We’re going to play for some sort of charity thing… something to do with stopping child abuse. So we’re trying to pick songs that fit that vibe. So far we’ve got Wish You Were Here, Blow Away, and Here Comes The Sun .
That’s great @Beatlebug , The Offbeats are on their way!! Hopefully someone will film some of it just like The Beatles on the back of the flatbed truck. Did I tell you I was once in a band in middle school (sorry if I already posted this). The band consisted of Mikey on lead guitar, Doug on rhythm guitar, Delores on bass, Alfred on drums, and sigh butterfly on tambourine. Mikey went to private school and was real skinny with long blond hair (me and the other guys went to public school so no long hair allowed). He was really good and we would all get exhausted trying to keep up with him. Playing the tambourine for an hour straight ain’t easy 🙂 Delores was the only Hispanic girl in the whole school and the only person we knew who had a bass (I think it was her Dad’s). I was Alfred’s neighbor and helped him carry his kit to practice which is probably how I got in the band. The reason for the story, our first gig was at a school dance. We had about 10 tunes including Day Tripper and after a few songs all the kids were up and dancing. For the encore we did the Yardbirds song For Your Love. During the extended instrumental part Mikey went full on rock star with his guitar slung low on his hip, his head bobbing up and down, and his amp turned up to 10 as he wailed away. It was such a spectacle that we stopped playing as everyone pushed up against the stage to watch. Eventually we awkwardly ended the song and waved goodnight. Next thing we know the person that hired us (I believe the girl’s dean) was backstage giving us all sorts of grief. She was angry that the kids had stopped dancing during the encore which she felt ruined the social atmosphere of the evening. All the kids could see her screaming at us which kind of gave us a cool rebel vibe. We ended up playing lots of parties over the two years we were together which was cool and Mikey could go as nuts as he wanted. I ended up moving away and that was the end of my rock band experience but I could never forget playing with the Alpha Omegas!

Over her life time she should drink that much at least.

Scotland are doing what we do best by getting into a decent position in a sports match and then promptly ballsing it up and looking inept.
Today’s entry into the long list which must a hitting a few hundred pages is our holding Zimbabwe to 147 in the World Cup T20 Preliminary match. The problems began when we starting batting; 20 runs for 4 wickets at one point, currently 53-5.
Ooh, we hit a 6.

I like Scotland and therefore pay attention to their sporting results. I happen to be in the house today and Scotland are on.
Another wicket gone and Scotland stand on 124 – 8. Need to get 24 runs from 12 balls. Scotland have this unique ability to put their fans thru the wringer. I want to type we almost certainly wont win this match but I have hope and think maybe we can. DAMN YOU SCOTLAND!!! You cant just be crap and lose by a mile.
20 runs required from 8 balls.
Edit: Wicket gone, 128 for 9. We’re dead.
Edit #2: We died.
How can it be you care so little about a sport yet feel gutted when you lose.

So if a Scottish team was playing “Who Could Watch Paint Dry The Longest” you would watch that?

I dont think “Who Could Watch Paint Dry The Longest” is a sport nor will it be on the tv soon.
