Our TDs/MPs are starting to being elected right now. There is a weird trend where the second they get told they’re appointed to government, their supporters lift them up and bounce them up and down- it is the weirdest thing.

Anyways, the fella that I voted for looks like he’s going to top the poll for my area, so good on him. He’s a hard-working lad and while I don’t agree with everything he says, he does the best for his community.

It’s looking like there’ll be a big rise in Fianna Fáil TDs being elected than from the last election, when will people learn that the second FF get any bit of power they f**k up the country royally like what happened 10 years ago >.>

Also looks like there will be no stand out party elected with the biggest parties being Fine Gael (the main party for the past 5 years), Independents (for the people like me who aren’t fans of the current mainstream parties), Fianna Fáil and everybody’s favourite terrorist-headed party Sinn Féin (damn young people voting for them who can’t remember/don’t know what happened in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s in Northern Ireland and Britain because of many members of that party and their friends. I’m sure the families of Charles Armstrong, Jean McConville and Jerry McCabe along with countless others of ‘The Disappeared’ and murdered innocents, will be happy to hear their loved one’s murderers/’s friends will be in our country’s government).

Public amnesia here is ridiculous.

Leaving my political rants (I have a thing with triple posts apparently).

I’m starting my 2 weeks work experience in the massive department store (some of ye may remember I posted about it a couple of months ago). They rang me a couple of minutes ago and they’re so lovely, they have an entire schedule planned out for me -for what I can do and if they like me and I like them, they’re going to let me work there during the summer (which is my off-season for language classes and I mostly get parades, short play-runs in the summer so steady work is good for myself and for my bank account).

I had an interview with the owner a couple of weeks ago and I was telling him what I’m going to do in college (Commerce, German and French) and he said “who knows ASJ, maybe this is the first step in your future career here after you finish college” 😀

I like these people, I like them a lot!

Not much has been going on at all really. I had to go to something for my brother for a while, which was pretty boring, but at least it gave me an excuse to actually do something different. Tomorrow I get to go shopping for clothes aka costume searching for the play. The costume pieces we have to provide are due in 2 weeks. We haven’t started getting anything. Hey, better than waiting until the day before opening night!

Yeah I’m fine, It wasn’t a large dog. It ran away somewhere, ( it’s a stray).

Glad you’re okay! You should get some shots soon if you haven’t already. If the dog is a stray, it’s more than suggested.

You really should @Evangeline. Could lead to serious problems if you dont.

My cat has been gone since Tuesday afternoon. Not the first time he’s been gone this long but it is a concern.

The second-round job interview went well; I’ll hear back sometime next week if the person who interviewed me wants me and can push through approvals from his boss and the personnel area.

After that, if I’m successful,  it could take up to two months to get into the position as the department has its own security approvals above and beyond the government clearance I already have – crazy times.

On the calendar, it is Winter until 20 March (19 March for the astronomers among us?). Outside, however, we are expecting temps in the upper 50’s today and near 70 by next week. Spring is in the air!!!

On a personal note, I’ve been given some additional responsibilities at work that will hopefully pave the way for promotion. That and a stellar 2015 performance review have me hoping for the best.

Would that be a promotion into a different position or a promotion in “rank”? Best of luck to you, Zig!

Today is the first day of “meteorological” spring, and so – of course – we have a forecast of snow tonight and tomorrow for much of the UK!

Good news, @Zig! Here’s hoping for promotion!

I am trying to insert more Pink Floyd songs into my Great Gatsby presentation– I already have more than enough Beatles but only one Floyd.

I’m thinking of using ‘Echoes’ but even the shortened version a-hard-days-night-paul-10 is sixteen minutes longa-hard-days-night-paul-3

Oh the trials of being a Floyd fan ahdn_paul_01

Thanks, both.

A nice bump in salary and a decent profit sharing bonus are in my immediate future later this month. The promotion is something I’ve been working very hard toward and I really feel this will be the year. It’s a little hard to explain but basically, we have clients of all sizes. My division handles the largest of the accounts while another division handles smaller ones. Over the years some of those smaller accounts have grown to the point where, if we wrote them as new business today, they would be handled by us. They are just as large in stature, but due to the nature of their businesses, they don’t require as much effort – pretty much low maintenance accounts. I will be taking on 16 of these accounts to work on my own, which is basically what the position handles that I am striving for. It’s like being tested to see if I can handle it. So @Ahhh Girl , to make a long story longer, it would be a promotion in rank in a higher pay grade with a few more perks mixed in.

Call the printer and put my new business cards on “stand by”. a-hard-days-night-john-1

Perks are good. 🙂

One of the candidates we are interviewing for a librarian position said I should add my mod job here to my official resume. What do you all think?
