In North Korea no one is a free adult even if they’re over the age of 17.

A couple of days ago I received an email saying “thanks but no thanks” for a job I was interviewed for in late December that I felt really positive about. There were a few vacancies in the department and I had worked there before. I was rather surprised I wasn’t selected.
Then today I had a call from a director there asking if I was still interested – I now have a second interview on Monday for his particular section. I guess it’s not really over until the fat lady does her thing.
It’s in that department that I won’t name who said no to HKL’s visa application. If I’m working there it won’t help next time we apply – but I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt either.
On a related note; HKL is having a few internet issues at her place so may not be able to be on here much while she sorts them out. I’m going into withdrawal.

Unless you find out where they keep the rubber stamp that says “APPROVED”.
Good luck with everything, trc.

I got attacked by a dog today… I squirreled up a tree after it bit my arm.
Are you ok? I presume you had to get a jag? What happened to the dog?
I’ve had a decent day followed by an incredibly boring evening. Plus its freezing which makes me want to sleep.

Yeah I’m fine, It wasn’t a large dog. It ran away somewhere, ( it’s a stray). I have no clue what a jag is though.
I am you as you are you as you are you and you are all together.

Yeah, what’s a jag? Does it mean stitches? Or a rabies shot? Or…

I think he meant ‘jab’, ‘g’ and ‘b’ are close on the keyboard, probably pressed the wrong one.

Ha ha – yes – we can swap ideas.
Apparently the staff in the library are a little bit annoyed at the prospect of a non-librarian being their Manager. In our phone conversation setting up my interview on Monday I told my prospective boss that they shouldn’t worry – I am very sympathetic to their work and any issues they may have. I actually started a post-graduate library course some years ago but “dropped out” when someone at the time made me a job offer I “couldn’t refuse”. I also ran a library in another department I worked in some years ago. He was very happy to hear about that as it hadn’t come up at my first interview as it wasn’t relevant to the folks who conducted that one.

In the latest news, HKL’s eldest daughter has moved in to her house in Cavite, Philippines. Makes me happy that the family can spend time together after all these years and that she won’t be alone at home.
They are busy fixing the place up as no one has lived in it since it was built nearly two years ago. It’s a nice little terrace type dwelling, close to shops and transport.
Cavite is a heavily-populated satellite province of Manila which is about 30km to the northeast.

No i mean a jag or a shot. Its what we say here when you have been bitten by a dog and need to a tetanus injection. Or any other time you get injected with stuff from the doctor/nurse.
