Been getting around with crutches well. People were pretty helpful, luckily. We aren’t allowed to have backpacks unless we’re entering the school or leaving school. And of course, yesterday had to be the day there was a fire drill where I walked uphill, downhill, through the grass, up a ramp, and down another ramp. Luckily, I have a snow day today, so I can relax my ankle for today and the rest of the weekend.
Besides the bad stuff, I talked to one of my friends that I haven’t seen since September for a good hour and a half. It honestly felt amazing bc I’ve felt like I’ve had very little friends that actually give a damn recently. Hoping that I get off my crutches as soon as possible

No idea what company its with or the position, will find out when the letter comes in the post.
My method is fill in application forms, send them off, forget. If a company replies positively, great, but l’l have no idea where its for until they remind me.

BREAKING NEWS EVERYBODY
I’m actually really enjoying a song that’s by a (fairly) modern artist and isn’t classic or folk rock, or instrumental!
In fact I may possibly even be on a kick of this song!!!
I CAN’T BELIEVE IT MYSELF!
And here it is:

Perhaps you shouldn’t be shrugging off music simply because of the era that it’s made in in the first place. I dunno. Just a radical thought.

I just tend to stick to what I know about and know I like, is all. (Anyone who’s feeling argumentative– I’m looking at you AD40– if you pipe up it’s good to explore more, and modern music isn’t all bad, etc., etc., I will have none of it. I defend my god-given right to be old-fashioned and stuck in a rut and all the rest of it! ) I try not to shrug anything off, it’s just rare for me to discover something of a more modern vintage and actually enjoy it. And it’s not like I never listen to music made within the last twenty years.
It’s just rarely that I listen to music made within the last twenty years

This is why prejudice sticks around so long because people can’t see past what they know and move on to become more enlightened to new ways of thinking that are not as traditional.
The Beatles moved passed what they know to new horizons.

As a footnote to my above post, I would like to add that I’ve become much more open-minded toward music in recent years– when I was younger (so much younger that today) I was a right music snob. The Beatles are actually what helped me get out of that, because before I met those four lads, I had this funny notion that I didn’t like rock and roll (what an idea!). That soon changed, of course…

New music is hard. I’ve been playing catchup to 10 years of electronic music, now I’m catching up with the jazz era of the 20’s-30’s, specifically trad but also there’s a lot of tin pan alley gems. I haven’t even begun on finding interesting Japanese experimental music, but I know it exists because I have a Cornelius album. Muse? I like a couple of their songs but the persona and the bulk of their work, although incredibly polished, is meh for me. I hear they’re a fantastic live act though.
I'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

After being very busy with work and social engagements, I have been struck down with a winter bug. Lots of chicken soup, lozenges and spoons of honey.
In other news, someone put something red in the wash with my George Harrison Let it Roll tshirt so now its pink and I was disgusted as a music channel my mum was watching had a countdown of 100 best British voices of all time and The Beatles were not mentioned.

Reminds me that I ruined the shirt my mom got at Disney World the same way. That was in 1994. I still feel crappy about it. I should have been more careful.
How dare that show not mention The Beatles. Pull their funding!

Music channels generally cannot or do not pay the money Apple charge to show Beatles clips so in count downs the Beatles are generally omitted. Tho if the best voices wouldn’t it be more the individuals than the group as a whole?

I’ve only seen a Beatles song on Vintage TV and it was Can’t Buy Me Love . It must be a money thing because the list included Take That, Madness and UB40’s red red wine was at number 1.
Wouldn’t it be something if on one of these lists with all these trendy young people number 1 was a Ringo solo piece? I’d love to see that once just for the confusion.

I’ve only once seen a countdown on a music channel which they played a Beatles video and it was on the ‘Q’ channel years ago, was the 50 Greatest Bands ever, and they screened the ‘Free As A Bird ‘ promo.
