Thanks, @mrkite. I am not really ignoring the “Get Well Soon” thread. I have read every post in it and am hugely grateful for, and touched by, the thought @sigh butterfly put into it, as well as all the lovely comments everybody has made there.

I just find the whip-around rather awkward and feel undeserving of such a gesture. I really do appreciate the thought that @Joe and the mods (@Ahhh Girl, @meanmistermustard, @Zig) put into the idea. I really do not mean to appear ungrateful. I truly am humbled by it. It’s just very difficult to know how to respond.

It would feel wrong to me to be jumping up and down with excitement at the thought of getting something for being unwell. Had I known nothing about it (maybe contacting people by PM), it would have come as a nice surprise. But as it is I just feel unworthy and undeserving.

And that makes the thread awkward for me to post in. It really isn’t a lack of gratitude for all the support and affection that has been shown me by so many of you in recent weeks. I really am very touched and cheered by the support the forum has given me.

No need to explain @Ron Nasty .

You did ask to receive no special treatment and we should have done a better job of honoring your wishes. Many of us (hand raised) were so relieved and happy to hear about a more positive outcome that we let our exuberance get the better of us.

Since this has put you in an awkward position (understandably so), I would like to apologize for that and suggest we all move on. The only important thing right now is Nasty’s road to recovery. Everything else will take care of itself.

Peace & Love.

I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

We’ve had such bizarre weather over the past couple of months. Two weeks before Christmas, and on Christmas Eve, we had temps in the 70’s (F). A week ago, we were still shoveling out from underneath 32 inches of snow that was dumped upon us on 23 January. February looks like it is going to join in on the fun as today, it’s in the mid-50’s and on Wednesday it’s supposed to be in the lower 60’s with up to 2 inches of rain and possible thunder storms. Crazy winter so far…

^ Crazy sumer here too, I had a cardigan on yesterday and yet we will be in the 30s (C) again over the next few days.

In My Life – I’m trying to get my son out the door on time for his bus. His (final) year of schooling (Year 12) starts today and it’s proving difficult to get him moving after he went all nocturnal on me during his 2 month (!!) summer break.

Not so far. He is taking CAD and a double in Architecture – so maybe he has plans in that direction 😉

Had a job interview this morning. Did everything I could think of, shame I forgot to research the company. a-hard-days-night-paul-7

Thought it was with the elderly going in, wasn’t. Took me by surprise.

Asked if I had a clue what the role was, had to wing it.

Asked if offered the role was I willing to accept, my answer was “depends on the contract you offer”.

Good think I know what I’m talking about in other areas as I was offered the position. Bank staff (that’s not working in a bank) so as and when and if required but hopefully will be something. Won’t start for probably a month tho and that will be training and showing. Need to keep looking for permanent tho.

Not heard one peep from the other company despite their words of “we’ll let you now by day’s end” last Friday.a-hard-days-night-paul-3Again, if I did that, contacting days later, they’d tell me to get lost.blue-meanie

Brrrr indeed.

You may find out if we manage to get your visa. It’s not too far from Canberrra to the snowfields in winter 😉

Well, life as been very quiet recently. Nothing too good, nothing too bad… until now. I sprained my ankle yesterday, and went to the clinic today. Now I have to wear an ankle brace and crutches, which I might (luckily) only need for a day or two. Let me tell you, crutches look easier to use than you think a-hard-days-night-paul-3

I broke my toe a couple of days ago, so I’ve been limping around.
