Yes! The power came back on this afternoon. Ahhh Mom and I finally could continue on with our Downton Abbey marathon. We watched season 4 and the first episode of season 5 before the power went out. We made it through 4 episodes today.

Before that, we watched parts 3&4 of The Beatles Anthology. We will delve into the remaining parts after Downton.

We love Downton Abbey heart@Ahhh Girl. Most of my family stopped watching when Matthew died but my wife and I stuck with it. You didn’t mention if you and your Mom have started season 6 yet, so I won’t chance writing any spoilers. I just hope they let everything end on a happy note for all the characters, in particular Anna & Bates, Edith and even Thomas. This picture is from the wrap party showing Michelle and Dan hugging. There were rumors at the time that they had filmed a Lady Mary and Matthew dream sequence, but that seems to have quieted down lately.

We managed to do that for only one season. I’ll hold my comments until you’ve watched (unless the dream sequence is crazy-jk).

Everyone in the US on the East Coast affected by the incredible snow falls I hope you all coping ok with the sheer amount of snow. Wrap and warm and only go building snowmen if you can ensure you will be able to find your way back indoors.

I got a phonecall from the hospital this morning.

Surgery Wednesday morning. Go in Tuesday afternoon. Nil by mouth Tuesday evening. Enema Wednesday morning. Then… Oh, such joy!!!

I’ve barely been able to sit down for a week!

Our area in southeastern PA is firmly in Jonas’s grasp. It started snowing last night at 10 past 6 while I was outside with Lily (one of us was peeing). So far, 15 inches of snow has fallen and right now, it is falling at a rate of 2-3 inches per hour. Predictions are for 2 feet+. Fortunately, the snow is very light and fluffy as temps are well below freezing. The wind is creating a white-out and a remarkable demarcation in terms of depth. There is a four feet deep drift pressing against our back door that is growing at an alarming rate. In front, there are patches of ground showing.

As for us, we spent yesterday preparing for the storm…

  • Gas for the generator and snowblower – check
  • Food, water and munchies (oooh! boneless wings!) – check
  • Booze – check

…and are delightfully snowed in today, watching Looney Tunes (Marvin Martian is very angry about something or other…very angry indeed) and munching on pizza bites.

More details after a bit…I smell wings.

To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

I hope it was Lily peeing outside.

I love the idea of a monster snow storm and having to stay in;  2 foot of snow – yes i’m jealous.

Good practice for Wednesday afternoon after having an enema?

All the best for the days. If you cant eat probably on Tuesday evening you should have something awesome on the Monday for your dinner. Any plans yet?

Unfortunately, @meanmistermustard, by far from the first enema in this process.

And probably far from the last.

When they want to stick a camera up your bum to see what there is to see, you can guarantee a hose comes first. They don’t want the lens getting dirty!

Makes sense.

At least by the end when its all over it will be second nature and you will be a natural.

It’s a damp and windy 6-8C in HK today; which is about their equivalent 😉

They have been overcome with rampant snow rumours all week, which the official weather agency was quick to deny. The last time it snowed there was in 1975 when there were 4 days of snow flurries on the tops of some of the hills in the New Territories.

Meh, it’s not a big deal in my area, surprisingly. Only about 5+ inches of snow. I know NYC has it much worse than MA, but I’m sending out good vibes to the others with more snow.

Also, I saw that apparently in NY, according to BuzzFeed, I believe a governor said it was their worst snowstorm. The second I saw that, I basically said “DOES THE GOVERNMENT NOT REMEMBER THE BLIZZARD OF 78?”

Yesterday about this time I was in the middle of making a post that went along the lines of ‘It’s been pretty hairy here in Silly Girl Land…’ when the power went out. It’s been out since, up until ten minutes ago, but we’ve been coping fine– the biggest grievance was that Silly Mum and Little Girl couldn’t get their popcorn fix!

Not much snow, though, and the roads are fine. I don’t know how long the power will be on though, I heard in my area it’d be out till Monday.

So if I’m a bit scarce, in these parts, well ya know the reason why…

Wishing you all the best along with some rest and relief, RN. How long will you have to stay in the hospital after the surgery?

That stinks hope the snow gets more spread out across the world so that no one is buried.

Trust it all goes well.

I had kidney stones a while back and felt much the same except on the front of my body, especially after surgery.

And when I was in my early 30s I had to have a part removed from that same part of my anatomy that is often done at a much earlier age – I won’t go into the details but suffice to say I had to wear what amounted to a kilt for some weeks and was in acute agony if anyone so much as breathed in my direction.

I have been assured 24-48 hours, so I expect on Friday, if walking with a wide gait.
