I dont think its ever pleasant to look back over what what you (not you yourself but the individual themselves) posted, especially when young. If your next semester is to be the last hopefully its not too far away.

Offline There is a yellow warning of snow in my part of Scotland. If it does snow you may find a story on the news of a weird man seen wandering around the streets for hours with huge happiness. I love the snow!!!
I’d happily live in the cold for months if it meant I was surrounded by snow. Hate the cold, wet, grim, windy, miserable weather that normally comes but snow is wonderful.

Hello there! Same with me, my first posts I can’t stand looking at, even though I just joined in July, so they aren’t really that old. Hopefully your next semester goes well!
As for me, everything and everyone has been bugging me. First, it’s telling me to “shut up” in class when I said a sentence, now some stupid nickname that some popular kid made, and now the only people that don’t call me the nickname are my friends. Every time I say “I prefer to be called Kaitlyn” they ask “Why?”. “Because it bugs me” is what I reply with. They just keep asking “why?” until I can get them to shut the hell up. And apparently, if I haven’t broken the news to someone, and someone who heard that I don’t like it, they think it’s perfectly acceptable to call me the nickname. I’m lucky enough to have even one friend that’ll try to help me out (she has her own nickname to deal with, so I think she understands where I’m coming from). Also, people keep asking me stuff like “Do you like anyone?” and every time I tell them I don’t, they think I’m lying. Let me get one thing straight: I don’t have a crush on anybody. And I mean that. I’m also praying that the joke that was made a few months back doesn’t come back again. I’m just going to keep doing what I’m doing, if nothing happens, I’m just telling guidance. It’s the last thing I want to do, but it needs to stop. It’s been driving me nuts for months now

I’d honestly suggest telling guidance as soon as you can. There is no reason why you should put up with such crap so dont.

Those people are idiots and if they start to bother you, just turn your back on them- they’ll soon get bored of not getting a response out of you, instead of trying to irk you by constantly saying “why?” (what are they five year olds 
).
It’s perfectly fine to not have a crush on anyway. In my five years at secondary school, I didn’t like any of the lads at my school because the vast majority of them were stupid idiots (yes Ryan saying “good man” to me was hilarious, well done you t**t).
If you get bother from them again just go to your guidance. It’s better to not suffer in silence, nobody can read your mind, so tell someone who will be able to help you make the situation better. Being a teenager is hard enough without having idiots trying to make your life worse.

‘Ling’………Means ‘monkey’ here…….If someone calls you ‘darling’ you have to wonder if they’ve mischievously pronounced it ‘darkling’ which means, ‘monkey’s bum’. I sometimes snigger to myself when I hear Paul sing ‘Oh Monkey Bum……Please believe me’
They like their fun with ‘tinglish’ here. Same goes for ‘madame’……..’mar dam’ means ‘black dog’
As for name calling…….If it’s not unkindly meant don’t be over sensitive, enjoy the inclusion, everyone has a nickname…….If it’s designed to hurt you you should respond……..Not over-respond. Just perhaps a look of bored contempt.
Sometimes the more people see it gets to you the more they’ll do it.

Offline Okay, thanks for the help, guys (and gals!). I emailed a few of my teachers about the situation last night. Hopefully it’ll get better quickly. If nothing seems to happen, that’s when my parents want me to go to guidance. As they said “First, I’ll email your teachers and have them help out. If nothing happens, you should go to your guidance councilor”. I’ll keep you updated as much as possible!

I’m such a talent for beating the odds! I really am, I swear.
I mean: what are the odds of biting off a big piece of molar at the *exact* moment the dentist goes home for the weekend? That, ladies and gentlemen, is talented! 
Now let’s just hope it remains painless so I can have it fixed by my own dentist on Monday, rather than having to shell out a wad of cash for a patch, only to have to see my dentist after the weekend for a proper fix anyway…

I know how you feel, sweetie! All I can say is, it’s best to ignore them. I know that’s hard; I couldn’t do it when half the school refused to address me with anything but my nickname either. But now, 25 years later, I realise they probably kept at it because they knew it bothered me. i hope it’ll be better for you!
P.S. I sometimes cringe over stuff I posted as recently as last week or the week before! I suppose we all have those days.
