I’ve just applied for a job in the Beatles store in London. I’m currently living over nearly 20 miles away from Glasgow. Bit of a commute to get there but there was any job I could choose to do working in a Beatles store or museum would be it. Tho would have to ensure both ‘Hold Me Tight ‘s’ were never played.

Couldn’t think of a better fit.
Hope it works out………I want a new Beach Towel…….When I’m over I always pop into the Baker St shop.
……I’ll try and time my visit for when England and most of the other Home nations are playing in the European Championships.

Good to see you back again, @DrBeatle. I hope it isn’t fleeting and you’ll still be around when I get out of hospital.
Good luck with the job application, @meanmistermustard. Definitely the type of thing you’d be suited to. How would you feel about a move to London?

If you work for a certain amount of days, could you get a commute home near London then go back to Scotland for a few days?

I need to move somewhere so why not there.
I’ll probably fail to hear anything back anyway.

Would love to work in the Beatles store. Love that shop, very friendly people too (have only been there twice but the girls who were working then were nice)
When I woke up my jaw was blue and swollen, had a fever, felt nauseous, stomach ache (probably from swallowing all that blood) and have had the taste of blood in my mouth all day. I think I was a bit too optimistic yesterday when I said it wasn’t too bad.
I’m glad I don’t have to go outside though. It’s freezing! In the north they have off code orange. Public transport couldn’t get used, schools and companies were closed and people could go ice skating on the streets! Seriously, saw a lot of videos on Facebook of people ice skating.
And then in the south of the country it’s about 12 degrees celsius and sunny. And that in such a small country, it’s mental!

Wow, best of wishes are sent to you, RN. Hopin’ all works out in the end
And as for me, nothing much is going on. I went to the orthodontist yesterday, and scheduled my next appointment later this month. The reason I’m posting this here is because I’m getting braces on the 18th! I’m both terrified and excited, most people have just said sh*t about them and my orthodontist is telling me it “doesn’t hurt..” Okay, I’ll believe you (or not!) when I can eat normally

I got braces when I was 30, the whole shebang: braces, palate expander (with palate surgery), elastics…everything except headgear. Wasn’t bad at all and I’m sooooo happy I did it. I got them off a 2 years ago after having them for around 3 years and while yes, there were many sore/painful moments, it wasn’t that bad. The worst was the surgery…the actual braces and all that was sore but it only lasted a few days, week at most. My two oldest daughters are now starting the braces journey but they’re not afraid since they saw me go through it all 6 years ago.
As for me, I’ve just been busy with work, being a husband and father of four kids, and still working with my wife on settling into the new house we bought back in September.

Some people here already know this, a half-dozen or so.
It is time I think to let everybody else know.
I will be going into hospital next Monday (11th) after being diagnosed with a form of colon cancer a couple of weeks before Christmas.
Because of my heart condition I have to have regular full medicals. This was discovered during my last one.
In that way I am probably luckier than many, in that there was no signs in my previous medical. This means that, hopefully, it has been discovered very early.
Should that be the case, the odds are in my favour. That will be discovered next week, something called “Staging” I am informed. I am hoping and praying for Stage I or Stage II.
This is obviously going to affect how active I am on the forum over the next few months. I will be as active as I can be, but obviously the treatment is going to affect. I may not always be able to be as active as you want.
I will keep people as informed as I can, but maybe not as much as some want. I know you forgive me that.
I want to take this opportunity to publicly apologise to @Wigwam. He made a mention of health problems, wishing me luck with them, in a post. I thanked him for the sentiment in a PM, but asked him to remove it as I didn’t want those knew of my heart condition starting to worry it had got worse. I was economical with the truth to avoid a discussion of my health taking over Christmas. I thank you for removing the reference Wigwam, and apologise for misleading you to prevent myself having to say anything before I was ready to.
This isn’t good, but hopefully not as bad as it might be.
As I said to someone recently, “It is what it is, and will play out as it does…”
I’m so sorry to hear RN it’s makes me cry when I read your post, best wishes
