I think I’m on a Beatles kick.
Allow me to explain: over the past couple months I’d been feeling more Georgey than Beatley, particularly when I was obsessed with Brainwashed. When I played a Beatles record, I just wasn’t feeling it. It happens.
Then I went John-potty because, y’know, 8 December. And then that night I was quite tired of solo Beatles, and I listened to A Hard Day’s Night , and it was riveting. It felt exactly the way it was supposed to, exciting yet relaxing, familiar yet new.
Then yesterday my Beatlemania got a fine boost at the class potluck, and last night I listened to Revolver , and every single song was terrific. So by today, I decided I was officially back in form.
It comes and goes, and while I know how it goes, it’s when it comes.

Oh these past few weeks how hectic they have been. SO many projects and stuff I had to do hence my absence from le forum. Finals next week so that’ll be fun although I’ve already taken half of my AP Calc final because teacher is like test is longer than two hours so we’ll give it to you a week before actual finals.
Anyways, continuing with SG’s post I too am on a bit of a Beatles kick so much so that I got Hey Bulldog and Not Guilty into my groups calc final video where we just do random stuff and try to relate it to calc. I’m also on a huge kick of one of the most amazing musicals ever: Hamilton. Now I dont normally like hip-hop and rap and all that stuff the kids listen to these days but my this musical is something else. I encourage all of you to listen to it.
And on the other hand, all of you are probably wondering if i ever go up the courage to ever talk to that girl. Ok I know you probably weren’t. You probably didn’t notice me gone because I’m so absent here often, I promise I’ll be better. Anyways, no I didn’t. Why? Because I’m stupid. Am I still going to try? Probably not for a while. Because yesterday I saw her holding hands and cuddling with some other guy at school during brunchtime and then on top of all that she looked over and smiled at me. Probably not in any malicious intent she was probably wondering why I was staring maybe. I hope I wasn’t staring. But I was all out of sorts for the rest of the day and going slightly psychotic because I was really mad a t myself and I still am. In fact, my parents took my sister to the band concert at school just a few minutes ago but I didn’t go because I don’t think I could cope with seeing her as she’s in the band and all that.
And there’s my state of mind for this week, or rambling rant about life, depending on whose side you’re on

I had to cut short my work day due to being unwell. Not great when you’re only in the door and on zero hours.
And my right leg just severely cramped up.

At least you recognise how it looks.
Nothing you can do if you were that sick though.
I’ve been fortunate in that I’ve a robust constitution and enjoyed generally ‘rude health’…….My personal sick-day philosophy was simple……..If I woke up feeling rough I imagined a 50 pound note fluttering about outside in the garden by my bedroom window.
If I was too sick to be able to get out of bed and go get it, I’d roll over and stay in bed guilt free. If I felt I could struggle out of bed into the garden…… I went in to work. I found that idea a great motivator.
In 33 years I doubt I missed more than 3 weeks in total ………….Ice on the line and blocked roads were more of a source of absence. Sometimes sleeping at work was the only answer.
As for UnidentifiedfeindishFingy…………..The Roman’s had a saying ‘Leap before you look’……The thinking was you got experience that way…..Not necessarily ‘good experience’ but better than gnashing alone in the darkness.
Let us know how it goes or I’m going to send you a ‘T’ shirt for Christmas with “PROCRASTINATE NOW’ on it.

I managed to get a full night’s sleep (well from 2am to 9am, that’s pretty good for me) for the first time in a week. Trying to strategically plan out the xmas food shopping so I swoop in on discounted hams at the last minute. Yes, I was going to do a roast but I think I’m in the ham and salad mood now, but I might change my mind again. Bought a christmas pudding, ate it already, couldn’t let the cream go to waste could I? I got a letter saying I don’t have to do the dreaded work for the dole after Xmas, so there is a Santa Claus and he apparently likes government stuff-ups! Time for coffee and peanut butter toast.

First off being in an extremely tired state I read that as “I had to cut short my right leg.” I’m glad that’s not true. Still sucks though. Hope you get well soon.
On a completely unrelated note, I got tickets to go to the midnight showing of the new Star Wars with a few friends

Okay. Here’s something kind of funny. Some of you may remember me whining about this in the Pet Peeves thread:

People selling their cheap crap on Facebook. Over and over, I see the same stupid shirt in a sponsored ad exploiting all the musical pages on Facebook that I like.
“I don’t need a therapist, I just need to listen to Axl Rose.”
“I don’t need a therapist, I just need to listen to Warren Zevon.”
“I don’t need a therapist, I just need to listen to Jack Bruce.”
“I don’t need a therapist, I just need to listen to Black Sabbath.”
I don’t need a therapist, I just need to go off to a desert island to avoid these cheap t-shirts being marketed to me.
I took a walk over to the gas station to buy a beer and I saw a guy at the gas station wearing a hoodie that said…
“I don’t need therapy, I just need to listen to Pearl Jam.”

A girl who I teach German to should have been here nearly 15 minutes ago, I hope she’s only late because of the snow because I’ll be really pissed off if she doesn’t show up- I’m not feeling very well and I got dressed and everything just for her but if she doesn’t show up (she hasn’t texted/rang me either), I’ll be angry.
It’s a real prickish thing to do to leave someone waiting for you without them saying they wouldn’t show up.

No, she left, never showed up ever again, gave no reason. Avoids my gaze when I see her in town- coward.
Thankfully the other girl showed up, her mam is sick and she had to wait for her dad to come home so he could drive her to my house.
Thanks for your good wishes, I’m feeling a bit better but I think it’ll be a bed-day for me today- I’ll work a bit on Klaus’ book (yes I’m still doing it :P)

Yep it snowed during the night, my friend was up at 6am and said it was still snowing so it must have been going on for a couple of hours. A decent amount fell, good enough that you could have a snowball fight, not so bad that you couldn’t drive in it.
I think it only fell on the west coast though, Dublin got none of it.

We’ve been enjoying some mild weather over the past couple of days. Today was 60F and tomorrow the predicted temp is 69F – average temp for this time of year is low to mid 40’s. While walking the dog down by the lake earlier I saw people out on the water fishing, kayaking and paddle boarding. All this going on two weeks before Christmas.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

My area is usually about 50F during this time of year. It can also hit the 40’s and even the 60’s during this time. By January, it reaches the negatives
Kayaking, fishing, and paddle boarding? If I were out in 60 degrees weather, I’d be wearing a sweater, long pants and socks. I would be freezing to death!

JEALOUS
‘Twas a high of 75 Fahrenheit here today, which would be about 20 Celcius, and humid! ‘Tis right ridiculous! I amn’t asking much, just a piffling twenty degrees cooler! It’s December, people!
Curse you weather
