Merch, is there any way you could record your voice, upload it to YouTube or some other service then post a link to it? We could give you some pointers on your inflections and such, if needed. That is if you’d even want to do something like that.

In my life, I’ve been on vacation at my mom’s all week. I have to drive home today. I wish vacations could last for three months!

Move to Ireland and become a secondary school teacher, June to late August off. As well as 2 weeks of Christmas, at least 2 weeks for Easter (it’s 3 this year), a week in October, a week in February and a smattering of Bank Holidays- t’is a grand job so long as you’re in a nice school….and if you get a job :/ .

Are the students there well-behaved and motivated to learn? Are the teachers judged by how well students do on national standardized tests that they have no input in creating?

My iPod’s went weird.

All of the songs written by John and Paul have vanished yet all the Harrison, Starkey (bar ‘What Goes On ‘) and covers remain. Yet its not just those, other artists tracks disappeared as well tho not all of them. Was having issues with the iCloud so turned it off and then re-enabled it and now this.

Also my knees playing up badly; i stupidly bent the knees last night sticking food in the freezer and today its non-stop. Still waiting to hear of an appointment, takes at least 10 weeks on the waiting list and its been about 2 months so far.

Hello everybody!

I amn’t dead as you can see, just been on vacation. We went on our yearly pilgrimage to the Land of Higher Elevations and Varying Topography.

I brought Martin so as to guard against withdrawal, but only the first night in and one of the strings snapped… ergh! And of all the shops in Blowing Rock, not one of them sold strings. ahdn_paul_01

(If any of you ever visit Blowing Rock, NC, be sure to eat at the Six Pence Pub. They played Day Tripper while we were there. WO YEAH beatlemaniacs_02_gif Oh, and the food’s good.)

Anyway, yep, that’s been my week… and for the next few days I shall be swamped in what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans, so don’t expect to hear too much from me. But I’ll be round, I’ll be round! heart

Nice name the ‘Six-pence Pub’……….If I had a pub in the states  I’d call it ‘The Thrupp’ny Bits’……….Sort of a ‘Hooter’s theme.

Shame about Martin.

I can finally give my un-used Martin 0018 away……..My son will fly back from BKK on a Thai Airways direct flight to Brisbane in January, which avoids the hassle of a Qantas customs at Sydney then transfer from the International terminal to the internal terminal and another flight thru to Brisbane.

Suits him well as he has chosen to board alone in Australia for his last year at school rather than join the rest of his family who will be back in the Uk for the next 5 years.

It’s taken me a while to come to terms with this idea…..but I’m only 9 hours away…….he loves his school and he’s best placed to make the decision…..

PS yesterday we spoke on the phone and because he’s packed a load of stuff to be shipped to the UK, including his electric guitar……He said, ‘Dad I was looking at the Bear Grylls book you sent me for my birthday last year and AUD$ 100 fell out of it. Did you put it there?”

Lucky he found it.

Like any person, they’re all mixed- you’ll have people who want to academically-succeed and those who don’t give a damn. I wouldn’t say that all of the teachers are judged oh the exams like The Junior Cert and The Leaving Cert but if you’re a good teacher and you’ve got students who are reasonably interested in learning then it should be no bother for them to get a C or a B in the subject they’re doing a-hard-days-night-paul-9.

So the hopes of European rugby rest on Scotland.

To beat Australia.

At rugby.

Scotland, who came 6th in the 6 Nations amassing the grand total of zero points.

We love being the underdog.

I just want it on record that Scotland are beating the Aussies with almost 20 minutes gone.

Scotland 1 point ahead at half time leading 16 – 15. Australia have missed all three conversations after their tries.

Scotland can feel proud of themselves…….That was close. Sport can be cruel.

I’ll be supporting Australia for the rest of the competition as my son lives there……………

If i wasnt a proud Scot i’d find a country that either did nothing forever or were always up there. There is nothing worse than getting close all the time before falling at the last hurdle.

Walked through a corn maze today with my family. Luckily, I was the one who got us out of the maze. Not bad, eh? a-hard-days-night-john-1

Also, I slept over a friends house Friday night. And for once in my life, I actually got sleep at the sleepoverahdn_george_06

It was 5 tries to 3, and while kicking is an important part of the game, I generally think that any team scoring a couple of tries more than the opposition deserves to win – no matter who is playing.

So 1 side scores 1 try (plus conversion) and 2 penalties deserves to beat a side who score 7 penalties but no tries? No game is that simple. There are other factors such as discipline, tactics etc.

Even the Aussie fans thought you were fortunate – and helps having a ref who when it came to making the big decisions got them wrong – and thats not just coming from aggrieved Scots. No way was it a yellow card in the 42 minute and the ref should have gone to the TMO before awarding the Aussie winning penalty. Doesnt help his case that he bolted off the pitch as soon as he blew his whistle to end the game.
