I offered to send my (all muscles) brother around to “sort out” HKL’s employer while he is in HK but she politely refused.

I was meant to have a doctor’s appointment this morning but had to cancel because I woke up ill.
Coughing, spluttering, bunged-up nose. Not feeling good at all. Slept most of the day. Think I’ll be going back to sleep soon.

Offline It all depends on the Doctor’s appointment, @meanmistermustard.
They wouldn’t have done my blood test, because they want to check my normal levels. I wasn’t feeling up to talking about the issues that the appointment was made for. And if I’d gone in with the cough and cold, the doctor would have just said that it should pass in a few days.
Much better to let someone who could use the appointment have it, rather than me taking up time to be told to drink plenty of fluids, get lots of rest, and take an aspirin or some other over-the-counter remedy if I thought it would help.

i went to bed at 11:30pm needing to be up at 6:30am. It’s now almost 2:30am and I cannot get to sleep. Every time I am about to close my eyes my being jolts to be fully awake.

Offline I got an email back from my old German host-lady who I always stay it whenever I go to “good ol’ Germany’ as George described it. I last wrote to her in May and I never got a reply so I wondered if anything had happened to her but she finally got back to me and told me that she’d been in hospital and rehabilitation for a couple of weeks but it’s all right now, so happy days.
IML: If you were wondering why I wasn’t on in the last 3(?) days, (I’m sure you all were as I’m frightfully important and my absence is always noted), I was sick. I had a massive headache that kept me bedridden for 2 days straight, t’was awful but I’m decent now, just sniffley *sniffs*. I also hadn’t eaten in the 2 days because I don’t eat when I’m sick and this evening at 9pm my stomach just went FOOD, I NEED FOOD, GIVE MEEEE IT NOOOOWWWW!!!! So I whipped up something but I didn’t make enough of it so I’m still kind of hungry but I’m not going cooking anything at this hour

Offline As noted on the ‘wishing’ thread @HongKongLady and I have submitted a tourist visa application so that she can (hopefully) visit Australia for a week or so in early December.
They are a bit tough with applications these days but as it’s only for a week we are pretty hopeful it will get approved.
She was here with a previous employer in 2010 and the koalas are missing her!! 🙂

I got my first progress report back for this year. Turns out, I got honors roll with that progress report. Strangely science, English, and math applications (a.k.a. the subject everyone hates) are my worst subjects. And, even stranger for me…
I have an A in regular math class and an A+ in French
I know, its a miracle, especially nailing French with it only being my first year taking it
So yeah, not much goes on anymore in my little lonely life besides school. Hopefully I’ll have more going on during another day 🙂

Good luck you two, that would be a grand Christmas present! I still remember how surprised I was to learn that Christmas in Australia occurs in the summertime 🙂
