It would be Scotland.

Do you honestly think us Scots would stand for some mish-mash crap to replace our countries name?! Ireland and Wales would be demanding to join us. a-hard-days-night-john-1

And some of the English. a-hard-days-night-paul-11

The doctor gave me a referral to a pain management doctor. I will be setting up an appointment with that doctor. I sure hope this pain doc can help me.

Hello everybody, I’ve finished my first portrait. I used a technique called egg tempera, and the painting is almost abstract. But the result was disappointing to tell the truth –and the fact that it is my first portrait offers little consolation. Well, that’s all folks.

The “investment” nightmare just settled at the second attempt and is now gone from my hands – leaving a mere AUD$100,00 of debt in its wake.

Sounds like the Irish housing bubble eh?

Time to move on with the next sale which should get me back in the black and moving to the countryside near Dublin 🙂

There have been some suggestions earlier that houses are so cheap there that I should 🙂

No idea where I will go still – I’ll wait and see what my budget is and what I will be doing for a crust.

Here’s a great one, the Irish government bought a plot of land that they were going to convert into a massive prison in the northside of Dublin for €29.9 million in 2005 (which never got built by the way).
Today, we learned that the actual value of the land is €2.4 million a-hard-days-night-ringo-13

Oh and I still think Galway is better than Dublin a-hard-days-night-john-6.

The good thing about Dublin is you have the cheap flights (once again, God bless Ryanair!) so if you ever want to go visit family/friends in Britain trcanberra, it will cost you at most €40 return (and that’s pushing it, most flights are €20 returns).

That, and next year it’s the centenary of the 1916 Rising, which was the true-start of our fight for independence, so the whole country will be buzzing for the year.

Whatever you’re trained in (particularly if you’ve got very-good IT skills), all the multinationals, Google, Facebook, Amazon, YouTube etc. will be fighting for you in Dublin because there is a lack of Irish people who know how to code and whatnot, so they import people from eastern Europe to do the job for them.

Linking in to the Ireland selling.

Ten things we didn’t know about The Beatles and their Irish links until now

If they are “The Irish Post” why do they have a UK domain? That and I’ve never heard of TIP so…..

(Well at least their journalist is better than The Irish Independent- woah hey, no joke TII are woefully bad, the top news-story of their page yesterday was a swan hit a woman’s windscreen- true story!)

Oh and I’m double-posting, I feel terribly evil ahdn_george_08

Spent the forenoon tromping all over downtown of that same town I mentioned before which has a Harrison Avenue in it, on a book scavenger hunt. I got a little high every time I thought of it, even though it’s a perfectly unassuming street… a-hard-days-night-george-9

On the housing front the bank closed the wrong loan account when I sold the “investment” property two days ago and then the following day charged me interest on a house I no longer own and now show my account in arrears for missing a payment no one told me about and which I shouldn’t have had to make.

I’m waiting on a Manager to call me back to explain and hopefully fix before I have to take another trip to see the banking Ombudsperson.

Karma again??  🙂

It appears so. I have no idea how they have been in business for so long; they were a Building Society when we began with them but became a full-fledged bank a few years later and their levels of service just seem to have deteriorated.
