Been quite a week at school. I tried signing up for a few clubs, which were okay, mainly because we haven’t started them yet. The only club that started was the Homework Club, where you just go to the library, and do your homework. It’s quite self-explanatory. Also took a late bus for the first time, which was probably the strangest thing ever. I somehow ended up on the opposite side of town, but I somehow made it home. I also have my 3 least favorite classes in my schedule: Math Applications, English (only because of the teacher) and 21st Century Skills. That’s really all that’s been going on, besides waking up at 5 A.M, seeming to not be able to speak too well or write (thanks so much, French class!), and actually having small amounts of free time.

Sorry to hear the bad news @Linde . Pardon that I didn’t say something sooner – I just realized that I didn’t. Hopefully things will be looking upheart

Went out driving today, didn’t stall once, didn’t cross over the white line, didn’t cut any corners and I reversed in perfectly-straight twice.a-hard-days-night-john-1 Not bad for a one-week old driver, eha-hard-days-night-george-4a-hard-days-night-george-10

Can I class myself as a better driver than John yet? 😛

There was a temporary glitch in the system.

I was conscious only of my happiness as a butterfly, unaware that I was Chuang Tzu. Well what Joe says is final and while we can make suggestions it ends up being what he thinks is best. I don’t see why his forum methods wouldn’t carry to the Beatles Bible house.

I had heard of that concept, @Oudis, but I hadn’t heard that exact story.

My desktop pc hard drive crashed so I am having to decide what to buy to replace it…do I want a laptop or another desktop pc? It was a cheap pc I bought in 2012. Right now I am on the forum on my little Acer netbook that I got in 2009. It still works well.

PCs should be fasting longer far than 4 years. The PC we have has been in the family for almost a decade; it runs Window XP which it was upgraded to when XP came out.

Depends whether you want to be mobile with your device and if you want to free up more space or not. There isnt much difference between a laptop and PC nowadays unless you really get into the details.

My knee is playing up a lot and the strengths of paracetamol and ibuprofen are not doing much to remove the pain. a-hard-days-night-paul-3 I’m beginning to think my dads advice of chop it off might be the way to go. Might be more of a pang during and immediately after but a few months it should be gone. But then there’s the blood and what to do with the extra trouser leg.

Hey! Seems like I missed a lot, saw something about @Beatlebug  and @trcanberra a page back. What happened?

Update on my aunt: The primary tumor is in the stomach, but she also has cancer in her ovaries and intestines. She WILL die of it, but she can do an operation which will take a lot of the cancer away, but not everything. This will give her more time, but if it will take 6 months to ”recover” and if she’ll be in bed those 6 months, it will be a bit useless. It’s looking rather bad.

Update on my grandma: We’re still suspecting she’s in an early stage of dementia and we’re going to have her tested. She has gained some weight though so that’s good.

Yesterday I went to one of my best friends with another friend. Her boyfriend broke up with her a few months ago and we decided to burn the stuff he gave her. So we started a fire in her backyard, which became a nice pyre and we threw everything in. Afterwards we roasted some marshmallows (maybe we thought that would make it less psycho). Good fun.

meanmistermustard, have you thought about getting a cortisone injection in your knee. My mom has had both of her knees injected, and it really helped her.

Sending out loving thoughts to you and yours, Linde.

Hi there @Linde, thanks for the interest and I hope things go as well as they can with your unwell family members.

I think SG is having computer issues so will be posting less often until they are resolved. Nothing of note for me – I just had a bad day but it’s all sorted now.

Interesting variant of burning bridges with the friends 🙂

Talking about PC’s, my laptop is making a weird rattling sound. I’ve turned it off, because it sounded a bit scary (and secretly I was afraid it might explode) and asked around and now I know what might be the problem. A few people have also said it should be replaced by a new one, because 3 and a half years is apparently ”reeeeally old”. But who can cough up 400-500 euros every 3 years to buy a new one? Not me, that’s for sure. I bought a tablet a year ago, which is basically a mini laptop so I’ll be using that one, but it’s not convenient for writing reports.

I think it’s ridiculous how expensive products, specifically technological products, don’t last longer.

PCs are better for longness of age but obviously not as portable. Laptops are getting better tho.

I’m feeling in a very irrelevant mood wanting to get away from the ordinariness of the day. Just sent an email reply to someone (not who has ever dwelt here) that will make little sense. Doubt it will go down well. Was far more enjoyable than writing the standard expected.

Laptops last fine when used as a desktop but when used as the portable machines they are designed to be they fail a lot more quickly. A lot of them also have heat dissipation issues due to the compact form factor. I suspect 3 years will be a decent life for some time yet given the delicate nature of some of the components.

I got this Acer Aspire One in 2009, and it is still in great form. I ordered this Lenovo today to replace the desktop that died.

Don’t worry. I will stay connected to all of you.
