I drove around town today looking at physical therapy places to familiarize myself with where they are. I’ll call around this week and see if I can get an appointment.
There was a story in our local newspaper recently about a woman who has Lyme disease. She had to go through about 10 doctors until one finally tested her and found out that is what she has. The doctor plain out stated that many doctors test for what they think a person’s problem is, and if the test comes back negative, then they pretty much say that the person is making it up or has depression.
I have had sinus infections many times in my life. I go to some doctors, and they say, “why did you wait so late to come in? This infection could have gone to your brain.” I reply, “Because so many doctors have told me that I was bad for coming in because there’s nothing they could do for me.” The ones who tell me I’m bad for coming in, I tell them that other doctors have told me that I shouldn’t have waited so late.
I’m not in the habit of trusting doctors. You just go to a bunch until one finds the right thing to help you.

“Do you see what the Beatles did there? All of the words in the title show up in different spots but in the last line they finally find each other – Here, There And Everywhere . That’s just amazing!”.
That’s a perfect example of the amazing clarity of a child’s eye (or ear, in this case). We probably all “knew” it somewhere, but it took a 10yo to put it simply into words. Animating the 3 words, in a way – giving them individual lives or something. Thanks for this wonderful story @sigh butterfly, it made me smile inside 🙂

Life is soo unfair but life must go on, I would like to share my story life, I was got married at age of 18 my marriage life was terrible because of my ex husband, he drunk every day and was addicted with the drugs he always hit me and fighting with me, year 2000 I was working in the Middle East it was my first time been far away from my kids, every day I’m crying because I missed my kids my contract is two years but my employer was sent me back home to the Philippines after one year because of the war, but when I’m got home I was really surprised because my ex husband has a gf and my wedding ring he gave to his gf and all the money I sent every month he just spent to his gf not to my kids, I really want to get out of the house that time and leave them but I’m worried with my kids I decided to stay and forgiven my ex husband, I thought he change because I forgiven him, but he still same drunk every day hit me and fighting with me, He almost kill me then I decided to apply Hong Kong because my salary not enough for the expenses, I thought my ex husband is change because I’m working abroad, but he is getting worst every time I go home for holiday only two weeks he still fighting with me and hit me, year 2010 I decided my self to get divorced my ex husband this is the story of my life, because of my kids I’m still here in Hong Kong I want them to finish their school and thank God my eldest daughter she is graduated civil engineer and have stable job
Wow, what a touching story…what to say? It’s awful having to be apart from your kids 🙁 Spousal abuse is terrible too, I hope he never hurt the kids! And then the betrayal & new gf! HKL, you surely deserve to find a healthy fulfilling love, perhaps with someone from one of the many islands southeast of you…Thanks for sharing that with us, I bet it wasn’t easy 🙂 I must say it seems like you’ve moved past it pretty well, as well as can be expected anyway in 5 years. The bad memories will keep fading as you make newer, better ones to replace them with.

Having a knee you can’t bend must be very debilitating.Apparently Scotland’s defeat to Germany is being described by The Scottish Herald as ‘glorious’ and much improved over their loss to Georgia so there’s still hope you’ll qualify with the last two games against Poland and Gibraltar.
Have you decided on the best plan for your back Ahhh Girl?
It’s what we do and its (pardon my language) f*****g annoying. Another gallant performance in defeat. Sorry but last nights game shouldn’t have been one which we needed to take anything from yet instead we needed a point or hope Georgia done us a favour. Neither happened. Should never have gotten to that stage but the players put in one of the worst performances I can remember last Friday night. It was a disgrace and totally screwed our chances.
A couple of campaigns back we went to Georgia needing a win to guarantee a play-off place ahead of Italy. Yet again the performance was a joke and we lost. Next game against Italy we put in a courageous performance and lost (Toni dived in the last minute to get a freekick from which Italy scored from) and they took that spot.
So these gallant, courageous, glorious unfortunate defeats can go to hell. Its a s**t excuse for not getting anywhere. To not finish at least in third place above the Republic of Ireland would be an embarrassing failure and the players and manager should be questioning their attitude and decisions not coming out with tales of hard luck.

@Ahhh Girl, as you know I’m another with back problems – my report looked very similar to yours 20 years ago. I just have to share this, in hopes that one of you might be able to prevent the same from happening to you someday.
I’d like to offer one piece of advice which I don’t think I saw mentioned – be very careful if you start taking narcotic pain medication. The stuff is great for acute, relatively short term pain, and is the right solution for some in cases of terminal pain. But for chronic, severe, non-life-threatening pain (back pain for example), it’s easy to get into a spiral of ever-increasing tolerance. Increasing dose and tolerance until you finally die is ok for some terminal pain, but not if you expect to live a long time.
It happened to me – my doc kept increasing my dose just because I said it hurt worse. He didn’t test to see if there was a reason for the pain getting worse. He should have just told me that he couldn’t increase the dose any further and I’d have to live with what I was on (which was still quite a bit). What was needed was careful dose management (by the doctor) and as few increases as possible. Alcoholism runs in my dad’s family, so I probably have some sort of addictive gene. I was becoming a zombie and I couldn’t see what was happening to me, and my family thought I was “just” an addict. I was an addict, but I didn’t want to be! It certainly wasn’t for the “fun” or whatever…dozing off all the time isn’t my idea of fun.
Hopefully you’ll never get into that kind of situation, AG, but if you do go on narcotics, please do treat them with respect, because they can mess with you. I’m so lucky to be off them (as of Feb 2014) – I feel so much better, I can function socially, and my life expectancy is much longer 🙂 And once my body got used to not depending on the drugs, the pain isn’t all that terrible! Those drugs can be lifesavers for a time but they are rarely an acceptable long term solution.

I’ll keep that in mind, Matt Busby. Right now my body is screaming “I’ve Got To Get You Into My Life ” to some pain killers.
I have an appointment with a physical therapist day after tomorrow.

Hopefully things get better quickly for you and MMM.
Wore my Abbey Road shirt today to school. I was quite surprised that only one person really noticed, only because people in my old school questioned everything, from a bruise on my arm that magically appeared there, or just a sentence coming out of my mouth that sounds like gibberish. Also had my first 21st century skills class today. We basically just learned that information outdates really quickly, so the information we were told in a few years is going to be outdated by the time I reach high school

By all means jump on those painkilllers now. Stay on top of the pain – don’t wait until it starts hurting again before you take the next one,, get them into your system at a steady level until you start to heal (follow doc orders of course, but that’s what they usually say). You might be on them for days, weeks, months…the key is, to go off them when you no longer need them. It’s unlikely you’ll have problems if you take them because you truly need them for quite awhile; problems usually happen when people stay on them when they no longer need them.
Good luck with your p.t. and whatever other treatment you’re going to have – I went through several p.t sessions in june and july and they helped me quite a bit One thing to check out is the TENS unit – they will have a big one at p.t. – it sends electric pulses into your muscles/spine and stimulates blood flow and stuff. You can get them for home use, they aren’t that expensive ($250 or so for a good one maybe), insurance might cover it, you can get a variety online, and different size patches (electrodes). You’ll see what I mean, but that’s one of the things I find helps a lot, and it’s not a drug.

In My Life : I’m not sure whether to go to Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich or Berlin next Easter for a German course
I know Frankfurt well enough and I don’t think I’d go to Hamburg by myself especially because all of the Beatles’ sights-to-see are in the “seedy” (no pun intended if ya know what I mean ) areas.

The key word in my post was “keep”; i’d get my solicitor to write them a letter first as it can be tricky telling someone not to phone – they might take it wrong.
