Annoyed at my school district at the moment. Don’t know my classes, never mind my homeroom teacher, or what I actually need for school. We are supposed to get our classes in the mail sometime soon, but now I might not know any of my classes until September, but they told us we were going to get it in the mail! Also, I have no idea what I need for school, and – hell – it starts in less than 2 weeks! The school district didn’t put any listing on the website for what I need, and I prefer to know stuff ahead of time, so that’s probably 3/4 of the reason I’m annoyed at them!blue-meanie

Excuse my little ranta-hard-days-night-ringo-8but besides that, I’m doing great!

I went to a friend’s birthday party today (which was jolly– and my teeth are a little less indignant today so I could chew a little– yay!) and she had Abbey Road on vinyl and we played it

YEEEAAAAAHHHH

I’m afraid after it came on I was only partly present at the party. The other part of me was winging along among the stars; at one point, we’re playing cards and my friend goes, ‘Do you have any sevens,’ and it takes me about half a minute to respond because I’m up somewhere near the ceiling, singing along with Because beatlemaniacs_02_gif

Terrible, amn’t I? ahdn_paul_01 Fortunately I have awesome friends who gleefully put up with my, um, eccentricities. a-hard-days-night-john-6 In fact, I believe they find it amusing. At least we always laugh our heads off when we come together.

Be trendy. Do what I see lots of people doing. Wear different sock on each foot – on purpose.

Not sure going to work wearing one plain black sock and one blue with stripes would be deemed as trendy or permissible.

Its fine at least you’re in, in new generation 🙂

Got my classes for the upcoming school year in the mail today. Now I refuse to log onto social media because people won’t stop posting their schedules.

Also met my new neighbors yesterday. Spent the whole day outside and got eaten alive by misquotes, but its okay, because I get eaten alive all the time anyways….

I passed my driver’s theory test on Saturday so now I have to get my learner’s permit tomorrow. I imagine the queue to get the bloody thing will be like this:

Well……what classes did you get? 😉

I don’t get back ( ahdn_george_06) to school for another 2 weeks…thankfully. But it’s going to be a fun year as I can feck around a bit as regards studies because they aren’t overly important in what I’m doing (but of course my conscience will get the better of me and tell me I have to get distinctions in everything a-hard-days-night-paul-11).

Congrats – looks like you are having great summer. Hope the queue is not entirely awful. Once, while at the DMV in Phoenix I thought I hit the jackpot because my number was 92 and they were “Now Serving” number 83 – how long could it be? Then, reality slapped me in the face when I realized my number was B92 and they were now serving A83. My fears were confirmed when I reached the waiting area and saw the 109 people that were ahead of me.

Oh God I wouldn’t be able to cope with that!

I’ll probably bring a book along with me (two weeks have gone past and I’m still on ‘Vanity Fair’ a-hard-days-night-paul-4) so I’ll be able to entertain myself for a while at least!

After that there is an exhibit on in the county library so I might be able to go to that and get to hear old interviews of what life was like in my county during the 1916 Rising and the Civil War so it should be a fun day.

Edit: I just saw that God gets highlighted now, I do use the word “God ” quite a lot despite being an atheist so all of my posts will probably be highlighted from now on (thankfully John didn’t make a song called Jesus Christ….well I hope he didn’t!)

There’s a question. If the Beatles were bigger than Jesus what would they use for expressions of shock and surprise? Richard Starkey! doesnt quite have the same ring to it.

Jeez, I’m jealous that ye get so many options. All of our subjects were very broad e.g.

English (included literature and composition)

Irish (literature and composition)

Maths (everything- algebra, calculus and other names that I have now wiped from my mind seeing as how I’ll never have to do them again :P)

French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Japanese (note latter are taken by very few people, all composition)

Geography (everything- physical, regional, human, biomes blah)

History (Choice of 4 topics- U.S History from 1945-1990, Dictatorship and Democracy in Europe 1930-1945, Northern Irish history up until 1997 etc. etc.)

And so on and so forth!

@natureaker, I hope you will check in on the forum during the semester to let us know what you’re studying in the 21st century skills class. I am very curious.

My son last year at his school in Brisbane……as an elective took, ‘Ocean Studies’……Snorkelling….How to drive a speed boat/jet skis…..Ocean Conservation…..Surf safety.

I said, ‘You’re ‘aving a laugh!’ ….He did.

Great schools these days.

Editors note:

‘You’re ‘aving a laugh’ means ‘you’re pulling my leg’……..He wasn’t.

I definitely should be able to log into the forum during the semesters. And I’m also interest by what I’m going to learn in 21st century skills. They only really gave us the smallest sample of why we’ll be studying in that class, but it should hopefully be something!heart

I’m meant to start a job tomorrow and another one next week and my knee is fecked more than it normally is. Buckles painfully if any pressure is put on it. Doctors advice is not to do too much on it, yet not nothing either.

So it all has to go on hold – if they are willing. I think a complete change of career line will be required before i even really begin this one.ahdn_paul_01

Isn’t the timing of life wonderful.

Me as of now.

A week ago last Sunday……..Out Of The Blue I developed BPPV…….’benign something positional vertigo’. I didn’t know what was happening! Room spinning round…..nausea. Very disconcerting and debilitating physically and hard to concentrate because you feel car-sick all day….

……All it is is crystals that have dislodged and entered into those balance canals in the ear.

Haven’t been able to get out much or exercise at all………Forced myself to get to the hospital on Tuesday. First they said middle ear infection……..then on Thursday BPPV.

They gave me a load of drugs but all these do is mask the symptoms, so I’ve thrown them away. I have exercises to do….One is called the Brandt-Daroft which I dread….

……..makes the room spin round and round but after 3 or 4 cycles the brain compensates and the spinning stops……did a 1 hour walk today and a drove to Tesco so getting there. But it’s amazing how such a tiny and relatively un-important thing can take the sparkle out of life.

The good things are it’s responding slowly…….I’m saving a fortune……..I’ve lost a Kg in weight because I can’t face wine……I’m getting through some good books and you may have noticed I’ve had more time for the BeatlesBible.

I reckon by Friday I should be OK……If not I’m going back to Hospital and get them to do the Epley manoeuvre which should, instead of re-training the brain, make the little crystals  ‘Get back to where they once belonged.’
