My head has been itching for the past couple weeks.  I was scratching today and something fell out.  My worst fear confirmed: I have head lice.  FML.

I'm Necko.  I'm like Ringo except I wear necklaces.

I'm also ewe2 on weekends.

No! Does this mean the locks and beard are not long for this world?

I had a bit of a cold over the weekend (absolutely great for singing Anna John-head-cold-style, but that’s about it) and head colds always do weird things to my state of mind. Been feeling sort of bored/nostalgic/depressed– very weird.

The nostalgia bit does make listening to Revolver /AHDN /MMT quite trippy as those particular albums hold quite a few memories for me.

Best wishes to @trcanberra and @Necko. heart

Here is the secret ScruffJunior family cure for killing head lice (not that we’ve had them before or anything a-hard-days-night-paul-10).

1. Get full-fat mayonnaise or a full bottle of conditioner and put it all over your hair before you go to bed.

2. Put bathing/swimming cap on and go to sleep, it kills all head lice and smothers eggs.

3. Wake up in the morning and wash hair out in shower, use a fine comb afterwards to remove any more of the b*stards.

4. Repeat the next night if you feel necessary.

Benefit: You get really nice, soft, shiny hair with the mayonnaise so there is a plus to it (that’s another ASJ secret for when I have to get headshots done- oh yeah I swear my hair is just naturally shiny like this a-hard-days-night-paul-7)

I doubt that I’ll take it that far. (By the way, I don’t have long hair anymore.)

I’ll bet all of you guys’ heads are itching now.

Yeah, the whole reason I have lice in the first place is because I caught them from my younger sister.  She worked at a summer camp with young kids.  There was a lice outbreak at that summer camp after they had “Crazy Hat Day.”  Go figure.

There were several old vinyl lps from my dad’s collection that I hadn’t seen in years and thought someone had grabbed them. My son is visiting – we’re going to see Willie Nelson and Old Crow Medicine Show tomorrow night. He collects vinyl and brought his collection – most of the missing albums were there, the vinyl is in great shape but the covers are well worn (good old dad took care of them)…including this one:

Great to hear the ipod is back!

And nice find on the LPs – maybe you can wash the covers in the machine?

Local news – after 18 months of messing around we have finally exchanged contracts with the buyers of our second house – with final settlement due on or before September 30.

That just leaves the house I am currently residing in – we will begin the sale of that next week. Pending that one going more quickly I will finally be rid of all financial ties to the bankrupt X. We are both agreed we will take any reasonable offer as we don’t have to worry about an oversize mortgage hanging over our heads.

Great news @trcanberra.

How do you feel about moving out, got anywhere new lined up?

Moving out will feel really odd, quite apart from being forced to sort out the detritus of many years here – things which make life messy, but comfortable.

My son and I will look at a few nearby units on Saturday, we like the area. I’ve only moved twice in the last 35 years so I can’t say I am really looking forward to it – but the future beckons so onwards and upwards.

And as many of you know or suspect; there may be certain overseas matters to consider for the future 🙂

Yay my deferral for college got accepted this morning so I get another year to work on my little projects (I swear to Jesus I will have Klaus’ book done), do some work and earn some money.

My mam told me this morning that it’ll be really nice to have me around for another year while my 2 brothers are gone so at least I’m not being a drain on the family.

Sounds great. A “gap” year has really become quite common down here and it’s nice to explore life a little more before moving on with your education.

I wish it had been more common when I started my University career. I dropped out after 8 months and went back to the UK for a while before eventually returning down under to continue my studies.

I’m going to Six Flags Great America on Friday.  My little sister has season passes and Friday is a “bring a guest free” day for season pass holders.  I haven’t been to Six Flags since Summer 2010, I think.  In fact, there are rides that have opened AND closed since the last time I was there.

It should be fun.

Oh you poor thing (at least think of what nice teeth you’ll have afterwards!). I have never had braces but 3 of my baby teeth hadn’t fallen out by the time I was 12 so I had to get them pulled out. My dentist didn’t want the new teeth to grow back crooked so she put spacers on them. The bloody things drove me mental, I couldn’t eat proper food (although I think it was a psychological thing) so I was stuck eating yoghurt and jelly for a week- then I ate a toffee and pulled one of them out ahdn_george_08. I rang up my dentist and she said my teeth would grow back fine and I could eat properly after that and about a month later I got the spacers off and it was happy days.

Hope it pans out, Necko.

SG, be glad your parents are willing to shell out the $ to get your teeth fixed. I’ve been lucky teeth-wise so I don’t quite know how you feel. Hope all goes well.
