I have to admit to being in a bit of a weird mood.  This just happened:

1 DEAD, SEVERAL INJURED IN WOOD DALE TENT COLLAPSE

^ Kind of freaky. I remember once I was on a plane and not long after the same plane had an engine explosion – luckily only a few injuries – but you really wonder about time and fate.

This was not how the last day of Wood Dale’s annual Prairie Fest was supposed to end, with one person dead and 15 more in the hospital as a result of a collapsed main tent.

Why would they need to clarify that that is not intended? Do people assume that everything is foul play?

I live in Wood Dale.  Furthermore, I attended this festival two days before and stood under that tent the entire time.

@Necko – I saw this story on the news this morning. Glad to hear you were not involved, and at the same time my thoughts go out to you and your community as you cope with this.

Hey everyone, I’m back! England was great, I had so much fun.@AhhhGirl , the Richard Porter Beatles walk was kind of a disappointment, actually. Most of the places have changed beyond recognition and the stories he told us aren’t anything most forumpudlians here wouldn’t know. Still, I got to see Abbey Road and a few other places that were interesting.

I have three pages of ‘Tune In’ to read and i normally read it on the bus when out and about. Do i take it tomorrow even tho its massive and i will have finished it after ten minutes and another book or do i just take something else and finish it at home?  a-hard-days-night-paul-7

My plan is to read volume 2 straight afterwards tho so dont really want to read something else?ahdn_paul_01

I’d by a paper or a magazine, @meanmistermustard.

And you’re not starting volume 2 straight after, you’re starting book 2 of volume 1. Volume 2 isn’t out until, hopefully, 2020 (or sooner).a-hard-days-night-george-10

I finished ‘Tune In’ book/volume/part 1 and read a little of The Beatles UK Tours book that i’ve been reading for the last 27 millenniums. A fascinating book badly marred by being terribly laid out.

Will begin the next volume (i’m calling it volume) two in the morning.

Nice to see you eating some healthy food at least!

Maybe you just need me to run you around HK again for exercise?  🙂

Watching the Cricket……The Australians are currently 38 for 7..Extras top scorer.

It’s usually the other way round.

46 for 8 now!

Broad 6 for 10.

Now 47 for 9…..Another wicket for Broad…..That puts him one wicket short of equalling Freddie Trueman.

My parents are gone to a wedding today and they’ve been gone since 12pm so I’ve had the apartment to myself for about 10 hours. I came home from walking at 5pm and then I felt a bit poorly so I went into their bedroom (it’s the comfiest) and decided to watch Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging (as you do, I like watching simple films that I can easily fall asleep to when I’m sick). Now I’ve been watching Skins for the past 2 hours and I remembered that I had to set my alarm for 8am tomorrow morning.

I had left my phone up in my room upstairs (I rarely use it bar for listening to music/surfing the net) and to my horror I discovered I had 11 missed calls from them, the latest from 8 minutes ago. I rang them back and they didn’t pick up the phone a-hard-days-night-paul-3

The one time they actually bother to think about where I am and I give the impression that I’ve been kidnapped or worse.

…Oh Joy!

Edit: Speak of the devil, a second after I posted this they rang

Dad: Ya alright?

Me: Yes

Dad: Did you have dinner?

Me: Yes

Dad: And you’re grand?

Me: Yes, I haven’t burnt down the place yet.

Dad: And you’re going to bed now?

Me: Yes**

Dad: *hangs up*

** I’m not actually, I’ve got at least another hour to run around a-hard-days-night-paul-11

Here’s the very easy way to put it, Zig. The game has been played at International/Test level for over 100 years. In those over 100 years, no first innings has ever been worse. Take whatever team sport you want, make it a game played at the very highest level of that sport, and have one team having the worse half of all time in the history of that sport. That’s what happened. At that level of sport, it was a total humiliation.
