Umm, so, @Wigwam – if one (or perhaps two) people were (perhaps) thinking of taking a holiday in Thailand in early December; what would the weather be like and can you recommend any nice medium budget types of places to stay for a week?
Also, do you think any inhabitants of said country would be interested in a BB coffee (or any other beverage, the Puer tea is nice) get-together?

On Monday I had a six month follow up with my dermatologist after having a pre-cancerous growth removed in January. I’m happy to report nothing new has surfaced and I can now go back to once per year checkups.
Ladies and gents, boys and girls; if you don’t already, please wear sunblock when going outdoors for more than 15 minutes. When I was a kid, we wore suntan oil. Little did we know we were basting ourselves to a crackly crunch. Today’s tan is tomorrow’s tumor. Please be careful.

Do i have to wear it when its -15° outside or pouring down?
Seriously, very glad to hear all is well and healthy and clear. Always good the less you have to see medical people for check-ups.
And yes if outside in the sun for a period of time please be careful.

Weather wise…….. December is about the best time to come. Cooler dry air is blown by the North East monsoon. Temps range from 20 to 32C in my part. The early morning swim can be a bit chilly but it’s preferable to swimming through warm soup in April. It’s sunny and dry. This being the case most visitors come between Nov and Feb so it’s high season prices and busy.
Having said that prices for hotels, even good ones are very reasonable compared to Australia. Thai food is delicious and cheap…….My son adores it. Even when we go Western, although the prices are higher, my son assures me it’s half of what it would cost in Brisbane.
From cinema seats and popcorn…….to Go-Karts and kite-surfing…..Boxing lessons…..tennis……Squash……Golf…..Jet -skis…….Scuba…..Fishing……He’s been able to enjoy the lot at very small cost to my pocket.
A 2 hour taxi ride from the airport costs about AUD$60.
The only expensive item is decent wine…….
And related to that…….If you’re bringing who I think you might, possibly, perhaps be bringing you may be charged ‘corkage’ at the airport…….
Let me know what type of holiday……Seeing the sights…….Relax, romantic and be ‘massage-health-spa-pampered’ ….Full on action and nights out. A quiet island.
……And I’ll pm some options.
If you settle on a place near me I will show you around.

Pouring down, no.
-15, if it’s sunny, yes. The reflection off of snow can rip yer hide. That’s a common mistake made by skiers.
BTW mmm, I was thinking of you on Sunday and Monday while watching The Open Championship. Lovely shots of your beautiful Scotland were shown throughout. IIRC, you don’t live close to St. Andrews – was it as cold where you live as it seemed to be there? I’m not used to seeing golfers wearing ski hats and jackets in July.

Not close to me was the golf but the weather was fine Sunday, those with the ski hats and jackets were just using the weather as an excuse. I’ll give them that it was very wet however on the Friday(?).
St Andrews is a gorgeous scenic spot, i’ve been a few times.

Last night I had a strange dream. I have to put this down on paper (er, screen?) in hope someone will find some hidden connections here
I dreamt of finding a wallet filled with some paper money and lots of spare change, along with guitar picks. Similar to mine because that’s the usual content of my wallet.
Then, a beautiful blond haired girl came to me, smiled and told me it was her wallet. I asked her if she played guitar, to which she replied “No”. I told her it’s not her wallet, because of the picks, obviously, to which she smiled again. Some of my mates are around now. Anyways, I somehow get the courage to ask her out for drink (which I really need to do in real life, not here, heh) in front of them.
Cut to a scene where she, one of my mates and I sit in this bar. High stools, high table. I start to feel embarrassed, or rather like I have no topics to talk about. I have a HUGE wish to just tell her “Tell me all about yourself” but she just smiles all the time.
Then, as it’s usual in dreams, you suddenly realize something that you couldn’t possibly realize in real life. Well, here I realized her name was Arabella without asking her. There’s a song called Arabella, band is Arctic Monkeys. I heard about that song, not the song. And it was on radio probably, so I ask her if people compare her name to that song a lot. She say that actually, no, I was the first one to make this connection. Oh-kay.
BAM, a member of my family decides to wake me up, greaaaaat.
So, when I woke up I was left with a feeling of being in love (aaah ) and a huge impatience to listen to this Arabella song. Well, it’s a good song. I like it, but nothing special came out of it. Strange how my brain remembered that little detail, a song title of a song I haven’t even heard.
That’s all of my ramble

@StrawberryWalrus There’s a thread for dreams here: https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…../dreams/
Anyway, what an interesting dream. Too bad it got cut short… I hate it when that happens.

Yay! My granddad also came back from his 2nd prostate check and he’s all clear so he doesn’t have to make an appointment for a good while now so we’re all happy!
Enjoy Budapest Linde, I’m jealous!
I really want to go to Leeds to audition for Disneyland in Tokyo but I’m not eighteen yet grrrrr

Great news with your grandad @AppleScruffJunior. Why do you have to go to Leeds to audition for a spot in Disneyland Tokyo? Seems weird.
Enjoy investigating the sights and sounds of Budapest @Linde. Have a great time away from books, studying and placements.

They do auditions all around the world for people (I’d say Tokyo would be similar to Paris in that you only need to speak fluent Japanese or English, thankfully as my knowledge of Japanese is as good as my knowledge of Spanish- reasonably zilch). The European auditions for Tokyo are in The Netherlands, London and Leeds and then there’s auditions in North America and Canada as well (I think?).
English is the “in-language” at the moment so they need to hire people with high standards of English so all visitors to the park can be understood and communicated with, hence they go to English speaking countries or countries with good standards of English.
The pay isn’t bad, Disney would get me an apartment that I could stay in, they’d pay for the majority of my flights, I’d get 5 days of work and 2 days off so I could travel around and see the country that I’ve most wanted to visit and I would inevitably come back with a good standard of Japanese- it’s a win-win!
London would be too expensive for a broke student like me to fly out to, where I only have a slim chance of getting booked whereas Leeds costs me €20 return (God bless Ryanair!) so I’d be able to fly out in the morning and go home in the evening (I can’t imagine there’s much to see in Leeds, feel free to correct me if I’m wrong). They rarely hold auditions in Dublin so I’ll probably have to go the UK for an audition for summer work in Paris (or preferably Tokyo) if they hold auditions after my 18th birthday.
