OK good….I’ll take your word on that. I certainly jumped in my seat, (along with the rest of my row) when that head rolled out.
The only film that perhaps outdid the excellent book for me was Godfather I……Too close to call though.
I just saw Burt Bacharach live. He was incredible – I think everyone in the hall had an “ooh, I didn’t know he wrote this one” moment. We had front row seats too, so it felt very special.
He was with his band an an orchestra. Burt didn’t sing a great deal, but the performers he had were really good. And they did Baby It’s You , which I’d completely forgotten was one of his.

So Tame Impala’s album Currents was leaked today.
That was legitimately absolutely, laughably bad. Usually I’d say ‘haha joking that was the best thing ever’, but seriously, that was the cheesiest bit of pop I’ve ever heard. Everything sounded the same and the instruments have been watered down, and the song Past Life is the worst thing I’ve ever heard.
From the same person who wrote Lonerism, I’m just absolutely astounded by how bad this is, in my opinion, of course.
That is all.

Is it the finished complete album as it will be released to stores @MrMoonlight or is it like some leaks and an early version where tracks still arent finished?
And hello again. Nice to see you here.

Nope, been finished for a while. It’s out legit in just under two weeks. It’s very jarring to see the modern-day saviour of psych rock become 80s disco pop.

Awesome.
Watched his performance on Glasto on telly, and I also had that ”ooh I didn’t know he wrote this one” moment with a lot of songs. Funny. Good to hear you had fun.

Apparently the Tame Impala album had leaked already back on the 30th of June, judging from comments on the Oasis forum. They’re eating it up there, btw. They do say it’s very poppy. Haven’t heard it yet, will look for it and give it a listen. What I’ve heard so far was good though.
I was looking forward to the Tame Impala album. I quite like Lonerism, and what I’ve heard of the new one (‘Cause I’m A Man and Let It Happen) hasn’t been bad at all.

A co-worker suggested I check out Tame Impala. I looked them up on You Tube and the first thing that came up was the full ‘Lonerism’ album. I liked the sound of the vocalist and the psychedelic sound. But in the background there was a synthpoppy (new word?) sound that ruined it for me and I stopped listening halfway through the second track. Are there better songs on the album? Are there better albums? I don’t like dismissing a band entirely based on 1 1/2 tracks.
@Joe – very cool you saw Burt B. My parents had an album of his that I adored as a child.
@Necko – expecting a review of the show. Have a great time.
Only 12 more days before we see U2 at Madison Square Garden – getting amped up!!

Currents makes Lonerism look like Black Sabbath in terms of rockiness. I generally don’t mind synths, but only when they’re used in a more rock-like context, considering a lot of my own stuff uses them.
There are a lot of more rocky songs on Lonerism, though. Elephant, Mind Mischief, Led Zeppelin, Keep on Lying, and some others.
Innerspeaker will be more for you, though. Some synths, but not in a poppy way. Mostly just fuzzed out guitar.

I just saw x-rays of my spine. It is a winding road..but not long because I’m only 5’1″. I have 5 kinks from my shoulder blades down and a few more kinks in my neck. And I have arthritis in my neck. Hopefully this chiropractor can help me.

Is it any good @AppleScruffJunior? I’ve heard about it. It’s based on one of the Sherlock Holmes stories, Silver Blaze if I’m not wrong. Please tell us a bit about the book -but no spoilers of course.

Sending fun-vibes your way (although you probably won’t need extras) and I do expect a full report.
