a-hard-days-night-ringo-8 Mosquitos suck.

What fluke of evolution created them? I wish they would become an extinct species.

^ @meanmistermustard you mean you didn’t know you can view most cctv cameras around the world through publicly available websites?  🙂

Id just thought I throw in that once I was scanning through IP addresses in the Ukraine because I was bored and I stumbled upon a few open cctv cams. I opened one up and there was a tank rolling down the street in front of like a little grocery store. Freaked me out.

Yep. Considering your current situation of ‘working like a dog’, I think A Hard Day’s Night would be especially suitable. a-hard-days-night-john-1 a-hard-days-night-george-3 ahdn_paul_01 a-hard-days-night-ringo-11

For those who don’t know, the working conditions for most domestic helpers around the world amount to paid slavery. The employees often have to pay agents ridiculous amounts of money to get the work, then spend years paying back that debt.

They work outrageous hours for minimal pay, with only one day per week off. They have virtually no latitude for personal activity, limited time to eat meals (which are generally minimal) and often have to put up with mental abuse from lazy and spoilt employers. Many of them are absent for long periods from the families they are working hard to support back in their home country, usually because employment prospects are even worse back there.

I’m lucky that @HongKongLady can type while cooking or we would have very limited time to keep in touch. When she posts here she often does it while doing a job at the same time.

After tonight i will be staying on my own long term. I’m not looking forward to it. Not scared but i like having someone in the house. Its the thought not the reality.

With only one teenager left who ‘visits’ occasionally I have a small inkling of the feelings.

Welcome to the club. At the beginning the silence will be deafening but in due time you’ll have your routines and be fine –although you will probably feel lonely. Chat with us if you do.

I have a book analysis due for my World Lit class and I’ve done a spoken-word poem. Since the character from whose point of view I am speaking is from New Zealand, I’m trying to learn the accent, but it’s… slippery. And I’ve only got till tomorrow morning– not nearly long enough! a-hard-days-night-ringo-14

Think I can get away with a Scouse accent? a-hard-days-night-george-10

Been being ill the past couple of days! Tummy problems, methinks!

All sleep and greet the toilet bowl. Two in the morning and I’m more awake than I have been in two days! Darn!

Don’t think I’ve eaten since a couple of slices of toast Monday lunchtime. Hopefully whatever it was has passed. I am going to roast a big pork leg crackling joint (says it feeds 14, I live alone!). No, all good. I do that a lot. Start with a big old piece of meat, roast that, and have a roast dinner off that, then use the rest in stir-fries, curries and casseroles over the rest of the week.

Just hope illness has gone, as the pork has another couple of days before it needs cooking.

I’m going to risk it though.

There must be something going around (the planet) @Ron Nasty, I had a bit of a bug on Monday myself or something I ate wasn’t happy with me for doing it.

On the mend today though.
