@StarrisonSubmarine, @Ahhh Girl Struggling home the day after our meal in Ed’s, when I reached Euston I staggered out of the station for a cigarette break. As I exited the station into the piazza, and what do I see staring across at me…
It is indeed, your eyes do not deceive…
Never heard of the chain before, and 2 branches in 2 days!

My exams are killing me- I look like death (according to everyone), my chin is breaking out in weird small red spots that make it look like I’ve got chicken pox and I woke up at 5:30am with a sore throat.
For f**ks sake!

Well, a few days ago I finished my second oil painting. Just like the first one it’s inspired by a painting by Max Ernst –I changed it a bit and altered all the colors. It’s an oil painting on cardboard, with imprimatura of course. It’s an abstract work, with shapes that remind the viewer of animals –yet they are not animals, it’s not a realistic painting. Lots of reds and ochres, and blue lines between the shapes that give the painting a stained-glass window look. I’m pretty happy with the result. Now I’m sketching my next painting –probably with influences of Ernst and Francis Bacon; but it’s going to be a 100% original Oudis’ work.

You’re gonna love college!
Two great things happened to me this Friday.
1. I finally got hired as an intern somewhere for next year. Pfoeh *wipes sweat off forehead*
2. My grandma came back from Amsterdam with great news. The doctor was so surprised to my grandma walking in and looking all great and lively. She expected her to sit in a wheelchair and to look like death itself. She took a look at all the tests and results, and said it was very unlikely that there’d be cancer anywhere. She could imagine why the doctor in our own hospital thought she had lung cancer at the time, but didn’t agree with the way she handled it. We also found out they actually didn’t put in one of the tests that was pretty important. She will request that one but doesn’t expect to find anything on there either. So that’s great! My grandma couldn’t be happier and neither could we.

Why do you think I’m taking a year out? 😉
I have been told by everyone that your Leaving Cert is the most difficult exam you’ll ever have purely because of how broad the courses are, I mean I’m doing English*, Irish*, Maths*, Geography, French, German and Business. None of those subjects has a connection to the over apart from a tiny bit of geography and business with the EU. At least in uni, you aren’t forced to do Irish if you don’t want to- for example.
*All compulsory subjects- I wouldn’t do maths if it wasn’t obligatory, I’m not even counting out in my top 6 subjects for Christ’s sake (I get marked out of my best 6).
Huzzah for employment! Good luck with your internship, I think I’ll be working in a lawyer’s office next year (yay?)
And huzzah once again for your grandmother’s great news. I have also good news, a couple of weeks ago my Granddad went to a specialist to check if there is anything wrong with his prostate, kidneys etc. and the doctor said he was in perfect health for a man who is 81.

Mr. Kite posted in the derail thread
I’m gonna officially say I’m back from my brief hiatus… That way I’ll stay back from my brief hiatus.
I hope that everyone is well and that I didn’t miss too much.
My life is pretty much the same as when I was last here except that I bought a cheap tele that I’m going to mod up to Andy Summers specs, and I have now seen (and breathed the same air as) Rolling Stone’s greatest guitarists numbers 5 and 32!
As I’ve mentioned on here I have been watching Bones a lot lately, and Billy Gibbons has made a few guest appearances as a minor character. Out of curiosity I looked up ZZ Top to see if they were touring. They were, and with Jeff Beck! And I found good tickets for only $20 a seat!!
The concert was two days ago and it was amazing. As an added bonus each of them covered a Hendrix song and Jeff Beck and his band did an instrumental version of A Day In The Life that was great! The instrumental swell was really cool, as would be expected.
I’ve also been writing a lot of good songs (music only though) that I need to start recording.
Next up in my life? Lots of editing for the Beatles Bible Band should be in my near future. Summer is coming and I’m going to be a camp counselor at a local camp on top of my record store job. And I should start looking for places to play my music.
Every thing is lookin’ good.
*pretends the above post was made in this thread*
Glad to have you back, @Mr. Kite! We missed ya.
*continues pretending*

I’m not sure I would want to be a kid these days–it seems so stressful. I don’t remember any stress when I was a kid. We just laid around listening to Beatles records and wondering what the next one would be like.

Well, you know, it’s the ‘Yesterday ‘ principle. Everything seems goldener in retrospect.
I might be a bit scarce for the next few days, because I have an assignment due and… other things. You know, life. But I’ll be back.

Sure.
I’m now running a fever….really body, really?
That and their are eejits on the telly talking about gay marriage being wrong.
If it doesn’t get legalized, I will be pissed off- it’s essentially telling gay people, you’re lesser than straight people. Straight people can get married and call each other “husband” and “wife” but gay/bisexual couples are left with being called “partners”.
Just because you’re getting married, doesn’t mean you want children. There are loads of childless couples, anyways single people can already adopt children. What does it matter if you’ve got two mams or two dads, so long as the child is loved and being taken care of, what does it matter?
Anyways sorry about that…..
