Thanks for your comments, @meanmistermustard and @Ahhh Girl. An alternative translation would simply say “to remember” instead of “to look back on”; it’s wonderful how you can still “hear” the word meminisse in words like “reminiscence”.

I wanted to say thanks, you guys are overwhelming! Also in case I forgot someone. It looks like with luck I’ll once again be convalescing at mom’s by tomorrow night – keep your fingers crossed!
Some of the “thanks” I gave apply to your happenings as well as your wishes (@Linde and @vonbontee come to mind but there are a few more).
Finally, my beatlemaniac uncle and I plan to take a UK Beatles tour in a couple years – I’ll expect reports on any you have taken (but not until the trip is nearer).

Greetings to all,
I havent been on in a couple of weeks because I have been really busy with schoolwork and AP exam prep. Its been a grind. Anyways, I am still alive and well although I have a slight cold that I havent been able to shake for these past few weeks.
I have some good and somewhat bad news. Good news is there are a few girls who seem kind of interested in me. Bad news is I’m probably wrong, two of them probably have boyfriends and I really don’t know how to have a conversation with these people. You know what, just disregard that I had any news in the first place. Let’s pretend this paragraph did not exist.

No problem, @UnidentifiedFiendishThingy. You’ve got to get the priorities right.
Unless you haven’t voted in my poll, and then it’s what the feck were you thinking?
There’s the important things, and then there’s your schoolwork. Nasty needs to know which avatar… then schoolwork!

So I’ve been working on my very first but hopefully not last piano tutorial video. Guess what I’m tutoring about. ;P
Interesting work, and a lot of good stuff to learn about one-sided teaching where you can’t correct whom you’re teaching right away and you just need to deliver a ready package of knowledge which has to suffice instead.
Anyway, back to recording…
There's nothing you can see that isn't shown.

At the Musee D’Orsay in Paris today. @Ahhh Girl will remember the dream set here that sent me to the Forum in the first place because of the musical score playing in the background of the dream. “Is there anybody here who’ll listen to my story…”

So much going on. Had a lovely birthday on Wednesday, my mom bought me a beautiful ring, my sister bought me concert tickets for Jacco Gardner who is a Dutch artist (he makes kind of baroque pop with psychedelic bits), and my grandma bought me flowers and came by to visit, which was a lovely surprise. She said the flowers weren’t my real gift, but we would go to town together to pick something next month.
Unfortunately when she came home something bad happened. She has these nurses who take care of her for 24 hours. Every 3 days there is another one. This one was such a bitch. My grandma came back home, and the woman started swearing at her and left her standing in her underwear in the living room. My grandma can barely walk herself, at the moment, so that was horrible. The woman hit the door (the nurses sleep in my grandma’s bedroom, her bed is in the livingroom) and yelled at my grandma that she shouldn’t bother her. Now, my grandma always needs to go to the toilet a few times at night, but this time she didn’t dare to ring the bell for the nurse to come. That night she didn’t sleep and cried all night. The next day the woman just left, without helping her get dressed and without making breakfast for her, and told my grandma that if she would talk badly about her to the organisation, she would find her, so that’s a threat. Also, my mom smelled cigarettes when she went to get something out of my grandma’s bedroom the other day. This nurse smoked, and my grandma had told her she couldn’t smoke in the house, especially as my grandma is suspected to have lung cancer. She f*****g ignored it and smoked in her room! We’re going to bring in an official complaint. So horrible, I felt so sorry for my grandma. What the F is wrong with some people.
Well, that Thursday I went shopping in Amsterdam with my best friend. Had a lovely day, but found it sad that a few nice shops had disappeared.
Friday I had a taster for a possible internship for next year. I could join them for a late shift from 3 to 10. I loved it, and I could definitely see myself doing an internship there, but they thought otherwise. I was quite sad about that too. I have learned a lot. They thought it would be too heavy for me, but thought I would be a great social worker, they could definitely see potential. So what she’s done is writing a letter of recommendation to the boss of the organisation, to see if I can get placed elsewhere. I really hope that will work out. I have to give him a call on Tuesday to go through the possibilities.
Oh yeah, also F-ed up 2 exams along the way. It was a week full of highs and lows.
And Monday it will be Kingsday here! Yay. Hope the weather will be good as it’s always such a nice day.

georgiewood said in September 2014 in the dreams thread
I can’t believe there is a thread on dreams here. Is there a thread on absolutely everything in this site?
The reason that it seems remarkable to me is that a very vivid dream is the reason I am here. My dream occurred about two months ago, but it is as real to me now as if it were a real memory. I was in a terminal of some kind, probably a train station, maybe even the d’Orsay in Paris, since I have a vague recollection of that huge transparent clock in the background. A girl was standing at the furthest point of the terminal and I was walking toward her. I don’t know for sure who she was. She had short blond hair and a sprinkling of freckles across the bridge of her nose–the good kind. She was wearing a plain beige dress, but she looked good. She had a completely enigmatic expression as I continue to approach her; I could not tell her reaction to me at all. I finally stopped right in front of her and she tilted her face up and closed her eyes–a pretty clear signal. That’s when I woke up. But when I awakened, the song Girl was bouncing around in my head. I can’t say that I ever really paid that much attention to that song before, other than to admire the haunting melody. I can’t say it was really one of my favorites, but it is now.
That dream started me on an Internet Beatles binge, and ended with my registration in this site. How about that, Ahhh Girl?
