^ Overall I did alright in it, my best skills were verbal reasoning and language communication if I remember correctly and it told me to avoid being an artist or an engineer . I’m going to ask my career guidance teacher if I can have a look at my scores again the next time I’m in with her, t’would be a laugh.

We had a test like that in 6th grade that decided to which secondary school you had to go. I had the highest score of my school. 549. It’s the Cito toets, maybe Beatleva knows it as well. I thought it was a piece of cake, but a lot of people got reeeeaally low scores. That was when I realized I wasn’t as stupid as I looked like (lol)Funnily enough, we had a test like that 3 years later again, and I don’t know what happened in the meanwhile, but I think half of my brains died, because I found it difficult and I had quite a low score too. Lowest score of the year as well, had a veeeery bad day that day. With the level this score pointed out, you can be a farmer, a cleaning lady, a plumber..jobs like that. Not that there’s anything wrong with those jobs. Didn’t tell anyone and it has remained a secret until..erm..now. Oh well. I ended up pretty well I think.
Edit: Oh my, this comes across as a bit arrogant. It’s just that school is one of the few things I’m really confident about.
I know about the Cito but never did it myself (I’m glad I didn’t)

Did you have to do something along the lines of it?

I’ve been putting off making this post because I took a lot of pictures to sort through. On my birthday (April 3), I saw The Smithereens at the Arcada Theater in St. Charles, Illinois. They put on a great show. We had great seats: second row, front and center. The setlist included the expected hits, quite a few deep cuts, and two Beatles covers: Please Please Me and It’s Only Love . I took about 200 pictures, two videos, and audio recordings of a couple songs.
Here are some of the better pictures.
The opening act, Gregory Hyde (who performed a few Beatle covers of his own) :

Here are the videos that I recorded:

The crowd was really digging The Beatles songs. That makes me happy.
Glad you had fun, Necko.

Pretty good covers they are @Necko. And good to see a cover of ‘It’s Only Love ‘. John would have been delighted.

No, because we don’t have different levels for secondary school.

Hope you’re recovery is a speedy one @AppleScruffJunior. Not much fun having the cold in April.
Here it is warm and sunny. Which might cause @Ahhh Girl some bother as this is probably our one good sunny spell until July and she is up in two weeks. She might have to do a sun dance.

Interesting. I’ve heard of rain dances but never a sun dance. I think I might like to try one of those. Wanna do-si-do, @meanmistermustard?

Oh no! Sick people!
Poor@annadog40 and @AppleScruffJunior. Just stay in your rooms and @meanmistermustard will bring you each a nice cuppa, with Peruvian honey (which he’ll have to fetch) and tea tree oil extract, just the way you like it. Hey… why are you glaring at me, mmm?
Anyway, I hope you feel better soon. Have some apples to speed your recovery.
(and for ASJ, a good dose of )

Singing, badly.
If you read @HongKongLady’s post in another thread she was in the mood to dance while cooking. We were chatting on the phone last night which cut out her music player.
She convinced me to give Ob-La-Di a go, I don’t think she will make that mistake again

Here’s a video (recorded by someone else) that has snippets of some of Gregory Hyde’s (the opening act) Beatles covers (You Can’t Do That , You’re Gonna Lose That Girl, and I Saw Her Standing There , from 0:36-2:00). You can also hear a brief snippet of The Smithereens playing It’s Only Love from 7:18-7:25.
In related news, I am also sick. Honestly, though, I haven’t been putting much effort into getting better, as I have not cut down on the drinking and smoking.
Also in my life, I broke my ipod back in December when I dropped it. I have ordered a replacement hard drive and replacement battery and am going to try and fix it. Hope all goes well.

@Ahhh Girl. I dont dance, i have no ability whatsoever in me.
@Beatlebug, there is no chance i’m becoming the tea person. And i’m certainly not going near sick people. There will have to be a quarantine zone for those who are germ ridden.
