Nice weather 27 degrees, and also very nice I have 2days holiday
First half sunny day here in a while so I put my washing out to dry.
And it gets hit with a deluge just now and it was so sudden I had no time to bring it in.
Ah well, at least that park in HK looked nice and sunny this morning

I’ll be praying “that he has mercy on our souls for we knew not what we were doing. Teach us, guide us and lead us into the light… and across county…”.
Edit: Oh, it gone again. When here decides to stay for a cup of tea in stead of wandering about i’ll join it. Until then.

I’m trying to decide between doing Business and German or doing French + Irish + German in uni and doing a postgrad in translation… decisions, decisions.I think I’ve come to a decision, my course is 4 years long if I take an Erasmus year (which I most likely will).
So if I do French, Irish and German in first year while teaching school-going students at the weekend I’ll be getting enough money to do an evening course in business throughout 2nd year, then on 3rd year I’ll be on Erasmus, so I’d go back to the evening business course in 4th year and get a diploma in it. If I want a degree I can continue doing it for 2 years while working in whatever job my 2 languages can get me.
Phew, making plans for the future is hard
Update: The night course is €3,000 per annum, I’d be paying €3,000 already for my course- that’s taking the mick. I’d get a discount but I’d still be paying the guts of €2,000 for it while all of the nights courses are €980. WHY YOU DO THIS TO ME UNIVERSITY! WHY?!?!
Update Numero 3: Right for anyone interested in the future of ASJ. I think I’m going doing Irish, German and French-through-Irish i.e. my lectures will be in Irish. I’ll hopefully do evening classes in Spanish or Italian for 2 years and will end up with a diploma in it. In second year I’ll drop Irish (because old-Irish is disgusting) and I’ll do French-through-Irish and German, so I’ll bypass the university’s rules of only doing 2 languages MWAHAHAHAHA. In 3rd year I’ll split the year by being in France and German hopefully being a language assistant in one of them. Then in 4th year I’ll sit my exams and with the help of God do good enough to do a masters in translation where I’ll be translating French into German and German into French not just English. I’ll then skip out of university and hopefully land a well-payed job because there is a lack of multilingual graduates in Ireland (speaking of which Dutch Biblers if you want a job come to Ireland because there is a massive need for Dutch-speakers for some reason…).
Commence the Irish, French, German drinking game!

@AppleScruffJunior, French-thru-Irish is learning French talking in Irish right? But you’re also doing Irish? So is the second Irish different to the first (ie old Irish v New or something) or do you learn Irish and then take that Irish into the French class to learn French? Or am i being thick?
@Ahhh Girl, you ride buses the same way you surely ride a bus in the US; queue, get on, show your ticket/pass/pay the fare to the driver, and then either sit or stand until you get to your stop where you get off. You could have just asked here.
I got stalked all the way home by a bat (the flying winged variety, not the type thugs use to break bones). I’m in for the night.

Actually, that reminds me. I didn’t look up to see if I need to purchase a ticket before I get on the bus. I’ll look that up now.

What’s happening… what’s happening…
I’m spinning my gears harder and harder and harder still, need to start earning some basic-survival-money-stuff, nowhere to go, nothing to do, and I’m still being optimistic. How confusing. Could it be that the idea that I’m nurturing is the right idea, or have I gone bonkers?
Do I proceed with realising the idea, and then how do I proceed? No one to tell me, and so much to learn.
Still, is it a good idea? It makes more sense instead of less with every day that passes. I just need to start doing stuff. A million strides journey starts with a single step, they say.
So, what’s the first step? Do I really need an answer?
EDIT: Just venting. Not blogging. Don’t worry.
EDIT 2: I don’t intend to do that often, either. But if it really bothers anyone, sorry, I will not do this again

Et tu, Brute?
The route, people, the route. The bus #. Which stops, etc.
@Getting Better , I bet 90% or more of all forumpudlians have walked that road you are walking right now (some are on it now with you). Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Please know we are all pulling for you for things to come together in your life. I’m glad to see that you are remaining optimistic.

And there’s the first difference: here in the US, we say “line up”, not “queue”. To tell you the truth I like “queue” better, even if it is harder to spell, but that’s how it is. So

Some Britishisms that Americans weren’t using have been seeping into the dialect over the past few years, probably because of television. “No worries” is one that gets used quite a bit now, but I didn’t hear it much in the ’90s.
