What’s that saying? Today’s news is tomorrows fish & chips wrapping?
Not if you have watched Notting Hill of course.

@Linde, I’m sorry to hear that. I’m sure it will be short-lived as Zig and trc have pointed out. You’ll be okay.

Just get a flamethrower and burn it off. Sure it could cause some collateral damage, but hey you get the job done quickly. And you could get insurance money! What have you got to lose besides everything you own

Look! It’s a thingy! A fiendish thingy! Hello again, @UnidentifiedFiendishThingy.
Silly Girl saidThat’s me. What I said was
This morning, I was tuning my guitar a whole step down to have a bash at “Yesterday “, and as I was doing the high E, it snapped. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I think I made some ejaculation of “Bloody hell!” and I’m fortunate nothing worse than that came out, as Little Child (my sister) was standing by. Well, I needed new strings anyway; now I’ll have an even better reason for my mum driving me all the way up to the guitar shop. We can probably go the day after tomorrow. One-and-a-half days without playing guitar; I think I’ll survive.
Just wanted to add that I put a sign on my guitar that said, “Gently weeping”.

Holy moly, I’m on fire these days! I’ve composed yet another song –this time a sad tune with depressing lyrics of unrequited love (*SIGH*), but a good melody with nice guitar arrangements and the lyrics are good. Once more, it took me an hour or so since I started to whistle the tune in the shower (I kid you not!) until I figured out the chords, riffs and arpeggios and wrote the lyrics. I could say it was the Muse again (thank you, oh Goddess) but I can think of another reason. Until two weeks ago I only had a cheap Chinese guitar to play, but now I have my Stratocaster and my acoustic guitars back –they were being repaired. Playing the guitar is sheer joy again and I am “in the zone” –ready to play and compose. So that’s all folks, cheers, Oudis.

My dog is dying.
I am almost certain that she won’t be alive a week from now.
I’m literally in tears because I’m not even sure that she’ll survive the night tonight. I hate to see her like this.

Sorry to hear that – hope that your pet either gets better or is not in pain or suffering.

So sorry to hear that @Necko. Have been there recently and its a horrible situation to be in. It really is like losing a very close family member.
May not be the nicest thing to say (and i hope i am not overstepping the mark) but if she is in a lot of pain, is suffering and the chances of a recovery are slim to nil the best option might be to put her to sleep. Its a horrible call to make however and neither option seems right. I had to make that call recently as my dog (Dog) was in pain constantly (relieved by medication) and it got to the point where he didnt want to go out for walks which he always enjoyed. However at times he looked really happy and his old self. Only you know your dog and what is best for her. Try and enjoy the time together that you have and spoil her rotten.

That’s wonderful! Hey, maybe when I get my new strings I’ll be all inspired to write, too. I’m feeling the symptoms of major guitar deprivation right now.

Well, she survived the night. I think I’m going to talk to my dad about putting her down today. It seems the merciful thing to do.

I’m sorry to hear about your dog. May I ask you what’s wrong with her? Is she sick, or does her body just not want to go on anymore?
If she’s in extreme pains, putting her down is the best solution. It’s difficult and it sounds harsh, but it’s the best for her, and for everyone. For her because she’s in pain, obviously, and for you all because I’m sure it hurts to see her like this.
I had an interview for an internship for next year this afternoon, and it went horrible. It was a place where I really wanted to do my internship, because it sounded really interesting and challenging, but I completely blacked out. And the moments where I did know what to say, I was tripping over words and churning out nonsensical eh..nonsense. So again I made a fool of myself (I seem to be really good at that lately)
And then I came home, wanted to grab some juice, opened the fridge and this ketchup bottle falls out and falls into a thousand pieces throughout the kitchen, glass and ketchup EVERYWHERE. And then I wanted to vacuum the leftover glass bits after I had cleaned up a bit, and the vacuum cleaner fell apart. I just went to have a nap after that. This is definitely not my day (or week), and it’s not even Friday the 13th! Ha. Oh well, tomorrow will be a brand new day. Got another interview then, but as I’m not really interested I’m sure that one will go great, as I will not be nervous.

Several things are wrong with her. She’s a thirteen-year-old German Shepherd, so she’s got the hip problems that German Shepherds are known for getting when they get old. She’s stopped eating. She has cataracts (but, then again, she’s had those for a couple years now). We think that she’s starting to get a bit senile. Within the past twenty-four hours, she’s been having trouble breathing. It sounds like she’s constantly having an asthma attack.
EDIT: Also, that doesn’t sound harsh at all. What you write is exactly what I’m thinking.

@Necko I am so sorry to hear about your beloved friend. As I’ve said before, we have been through it. If her quality of life is suffering, laying her to rest is definitely the best decision. Not the easiest, though.
You and your dog will be in my thoughts.
To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.
