I hope you all can forgive me…the reason we planned this trip is because hubby wants to go to the Barry Gibb concert at the Hollywood Bowl tomorrow night. The things we do for family peace and harmony.

I just want to point out that I seem to recall you went to a certain concert given by one Paul McCartney for the sake of family peace and harmony, and look how that turned out. ;-)

Great. The next 3 years we’re going to have 400 euro’s to live off a month. That’s 100 euros a week. That’s less than 3 euros a day for one person. There’s five of us. Just when you thought things couldn’t get worse. Oh and my grandma had a myocardial infarction. Such a great week so far. I can’t even look forward to Pinkpop anymore.

Operating on little sleep, and I have to run to an appointment this morning, but the Ahhh Girl/parlance meet-up was raving success! Dinner at Smashburger, followed by the Beatles Second Album in mono listening party at the Grammy Museum, then a little nighttime sightseeing that included the individual stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

And it was a treat to meet Mr. Ahhh Girl as well. :-D

I just saw The Beatles star. It is in a different place than the 4 individual stars. Will post pictures tonight.

The discussion after they played the record last night was like the forum come to life…mono v stereo, US v UK versions, recording techniques and equipment. One of the speakers had a chair from Abbey Road studio a-hard-days-night-ringo-10 after the discussion, people were welcome to sit in the chair. Very cool.

So, did you sit in the Abbey Road chair? And if so, did you feel anything, like John Lennon was holding you in his armchair, and you could feel his… well, never mind, let’s not go there. Anyway, this is all very cool, and I’m looking forward to seeing and hearing more of your ongoing LA adventures. :)

I have been trying to figure out part of this classical guitar piece on my Gretsch. I think its Rodrigo but thats not really my genre so I really have no idea. I heard it on the radio and figured it out. Here’s what I have so far (its supposed to be faster than this but I’ve only been working on it for about 20 minutes) And I apologize for the bad sound quality.

I’m just happy because today is a great day. It’s been raining at night, so the colors are brighter: the green in the trees, the blue in the sky, and the white in the clouds. And the air smells of rain, flowers and wet earth.

Songwriting. I absolutely love writing songs. I used to think I’d be a writer, but then I realised that was a bad idea since I got no work done whatsoever and it felt like a chore. But with songs, I can have fun, and I don’t procrastinate since it’s a lot shorter than writing entire novels. The lyrics just flow out for me.

Trying to study for my Philosophy retake. So boring. I loved the classes, but the book is so, so dry.

Excuse me but if there is any moderating to be done its AG’s posts about Paul. Some of those should come with a warning for those under the age of 25 and would have the decency police coming round with a cease and destroy order if they ever found out.

I decided that what I wanted to do was hold on to the back of the chair. Don’t know why that struck me as the thing to do.

@Joe – Look, the Beatles Bible went to the The Beatles star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Beatles star is in the lower right hand part of the picture. The star next to theirs is for Elvis Presley. This is on the corner of Hollywood and La Brea.

Here are the individual stars for our boys near the Capitol Records building.

@Ahhh Girl Ringo’s Star!

I haven’t been on so didn’t see your reply. I meant the airport man, not Mr. AG (I was sure he wasn’t on because I don’t know how he’d feel about the Paul posts MMM mentioned a-hard-days-night-george-10 ).

AG/@parlance

The the listening party seems really fun, glad the ParAhhlanceGirl/whatever everyone else is saying meeting is going great. Now do they do a different album every night, or was it a one night thing? Like I said, haven’t been on so sorry if you two told us already.

If I spoke prose you'd all find out, I don't know what I talk about.

I’m listening with headphones as I digitize a vinyl Genesis bootleg from 1973.

Not a huge fan of Gabriel-era Genesis, but I do like this one from that time period:
