This forum is starting to feel like a tv show

Ha ha – I was thinking exactly the same. Lively though, isn’t it?

I wonder how the ratings will go?

Our dog Lily had a biospy taken yesterday. We are waiting on the results, hoping it is just a cyst. A bit optimistic as it has not been growing. Positive thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

May it be nothing at all and you can all go out for a walk as an act of celebration.

I am very happy to report Lily’s test showed no cancer – just a cyst that may be able to be dealt with without surgery. After a few tears of joy, we went out to dinner to celebrate Zag’s birthday. It would have been a cruel, twisted quirk of fate if the news was bad as just a year ago yesterday (for those who remember) Lil was attacked by two Pit Bulls and needed major surgery. The Mrs. was starting to think her birthday was cursed.

Thanks to all of you for the positive vibes. Y’all rock!

I’m over here now, @Oudis! a-hard-days-night-george-10

I finished learning the piano part to Maybe I’m Amazed a few hours ago! Success! i’ve been trying to record for about an hour, but I don’t know it well enough to play without mistakes yet and my wrists hurt, so I’m giving up for the night.

Might try to learn the guitar solo now… Probably not though…

It’ll be so great once i record this… Can’t wait!

What kind of recording gear do you have, @Mr. Kite? Can you tell us about it?

At the moment not much…

(And before I say it again on the forum, I’d like you all to know I am not being paid by Blue Microphones. I do wish they’d give me something for the amount I’ve mentioned them here though… Probably sold a few mics!)

I just have a Blue Snowball mic which is probably the cheapest good microphone you can get. It’s a great mic and works perfectly for what I need now, recording guitars and some vocals.

For the piano I have a nice average-sized (don’t know the key count) keyboard my grandmother gave me years ago and a crappy little MIDI keyboard.

Regularly if I record piano I’ll try and use the MIDI keyboard to record directly into the computer, but it’s smaller and I wouldn’t be able to play Maybe I’m Amazed on it unless I lowered it all an octave after recording. After getting fed up with the tiny thing I decided to just record the nice keyboard with the mic which didn’t sound as bad as I thought it would!

I have a long list of things in my mind that I want to get when money allows it, and better recording gear is on there. But for now this is simple and effective.

Probably a lot more than you asked, but you get the idea!
