Guys, my grandma has lungcancer :( I had 3 missed called from my mum at the end of my internship and knew something was wrong. She told me everything. So my grandma has cancer and doesn’t have much time left. I couldn’t stop crying and I was disgusted with the hospital and the way they have treated both my grandma and the family members who went with her to the doctors. I may or may not have accidentally expressed my disgust by throwing up on my new sweater.

And yet she was still occupied with others. ”But can’t you give me something to hold on for a bit longer, like a year or so? My granddaughter will turn 21 soon and my daughter will turn 50 and will have her 25th anniversary. Oh and then there’s Christmas, I can’t miss all that, oh no” and to us, as she always makes soup for us every Sunday, she apologized and felt very bad about not being able to make soup! I don’t give a damn about that friggin soup.

So sorry to hear that @Linde , I hope they can make her comfortable and that you can all spend quality time with her in the coming weeks. My father died from the same complaint but I still can’t imagine what you are going through as every relationship is different. Please feel free to chat about your feelings if we can be of any help.

Oh HKLady! Wonderful to see you here.

But you’re not actually Chinese? Where are you from?

Just in case my dear lady nodded off again; she is from Cebu in the Philippines.

Thats s**t news @Linde and you have my deepest sympathies. As folk have and will say altho there will be a lot of sadness, pain, fear and everything else over the next few weeks/months dont let any of that spoil the time you all have together – take every single second possible and enjoy it as much as possible with each other. Those moments will be the ones you look back on and remember with deep fondness. Ensure there are no regrets.

Remember you can post freely here if you want.

Hello Everyone,

It been almost 2 weeks since Ive posted here because I have been really busy with an AP Physics project that just finished up and I have missed a lot. I thought I’d fill y’all in with what just happened to me like 1 hour ago.

So, me and the girl who I told you about, not the first one who still has not replied, were at the library. Now, we are out of school this week so its actually the first time we had actually seen each other. Anyways, she decided that we were going to walk around the neighborhood and look for a pond which she saw when she was 4. The area has no ponds so I reluctantly went and she started going down alleys. When that happened, I kinda ditched her and now I feel like an a*****e. So yeah, and then last friday when we were at the library, she did some stuff which was almost like flirting but Im not sure. I have no clue.

@Linde Sorry to hear about your grandmother heartheartheart

@Linde I never know what to say in these situations, but I lost my grandmother to cancer, and lots of other family members to other things in a very short period of time. I know it’s tough and hope she can at least stick around for a while to enjoy the remaining time with you all. Hope she doesn’t feel any pain during this time.

heartheart

@Linde, you made a wonderful tribute to your grandmother when you spoke of her care for her family, even in her time of personal distress.  By chance, I was looking today at an interview with George and Ringo when they touched on John’s passing.  George’s view, as you would expect, was very spiritual and uplifting. You should look at it when you get a chance.  Best wishes.

I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

HKL asked me to pass on a message that she is pretty busy catching up with friends over the Chinese New Year so may be absent from here for a few days. She hopes to catch up with everyone again early next week.

This is really obvious, but possibly not to you so I’ll be very clear:

  • She’s into you.
  • You blew her out.
  • The next move is yours.
  • Don’t hang around if you’re interested.

Thanks for the update @trcanberra.

By now most, if not all of you, know this has all been a spot of fun as we have had a “stand in” for HKL. Our @AppleScruffJunior is quite the actress. Going forward, we would welcome the real HKL should she decide to join us – we will accept no substitutes. a-hard-days-night-george-10

We will accpet no more imposters either. But in the meantime, thanks to trc for being such a good sport as he sorted this out from the jump and played it up brilliantly. Thanks also to ASJr for hamming it up and giving us a laugh and thanks to all who caught on and played along.

I didn’t know it was ASJ. I thought it was Anna because HKL’s favorite song was Anna’s least favorite.

Well played, @AppleScruffJunior
